Te-te-te-te-terminal!? What's with these terminals?

Here's a terminal for you.

Spoiler (hover to show)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminal_velocity

Terminal Velocity is basically the max speed of an object as it falls.

The word Terminal has different meanings.

Hmm.......

How about.

Solar Embodiment.

Or maybe just some random characters and symbols, and saying that it is in a forgotten language?

How 'bout they meet one of the minions of the epic boss, and through miscommunication become one of the minions and are tasked to gather up souls for the epic boss so he can create more minions. And then after X amount of souls, they are tasked to bring it all to a store room; and in there the spell that turned them into a skeleton breaks.

With a spur of the moment decision, they loot as much as they can for the farmers (Phodom) or Himself (Fradz). They would have X amount of time to loot before they are discovered. The store room would contain a bunch of random things, potions, gold, food, chairs, tables, ect.

Then they have to fight their way out freeing as many trapped souls as possible (killing as many minions as possible) within a time limit. But here's the twist, the amount of stuff they looted, slows the down. So all of the random things would have some weight value that would slow them down by X movement speed.

As for rewards, they would vary on different factors. Such as (time to collect X souls * 0.5) = exp, total items looted * 50 = gold, and # of souls freed * 0.05 % bonus gold and exp. Something like that.

Okay, so remove, the last three paragraphs, and the last sentence of the first paragraph.

With the task of gathering souls, they have to go through different puzzles to get each soul.

One can be a maze puzzle, where they have to dodge guards, farmers, ect. And the player would have a limited sight range.

Another could be a logic puzzle. Such as the lucky box puzzle in chapter 1.

And the next one could be like "pick one door" kind of puzzle. So there would be two paths, and one leads to a soul, and the other loops on it's(sends the player back to the start).

Then another could be a jigsaw puzzle. For this they could have been "shrunken" and have to unlock a lock, so they have to push the "pins" into the correct spot.

I though about this and I think the best place for the puzzle is chapter 5. Phodom or Fradz picks up something that puts him to another dimension and he's like skeleton. In a skeleton form in that another dimension is the puzzle with souls and things. The puzzle is related to chapter 5 Epic Boss.

So, now more puzzle ideas about this theme.

How 'bout they meet one of the minions of the epic boss, and through miscommunication become one of the minions and are tasked to gather up souls for the epic boss so he can create more minions. In chapter 4 it is possible to grind gold from the spider mini-boss. The spiderlings it summons give a little bit of gold when killed.

Also, chapter 5 is not low setting friendly. If the Lights is set to low, everything is blacked out, with a fit little bits showing from some things. Including the intro cinematic. Easily fixed, player just needs to set lights to medium or high. But I figured I'd report it, since there was no problems in chapters 1-4 on low lights.

I would have to say the news.

Mainly because when there's something new is it, that generally means knowledge of progress has been made more publicly/officially. :D

^ alright, let's play it ur style.

if we can't complete many processes at a time without doing mistakes, what's stopping aero from writing down the idea FIRST and THEN think about it throughly. and if he then thinks the idea is bad, erase that idea from the list.

i really don't see why u'd see this thread as a good thing and really wished to defend it; this shouldn't have happened.

You are ASSUMING he isn't doing anything else at the time of reading an idea(s), except for reading that idea. The point I've been trying to make is that more than likely, there are other thing he was doing before and during while he was reading the idea(s).

It's not that I'm defending this thread, it's that I hate your approach to a solution. It's gives a "high and mighty" attitude. And the thoughts behind your approach is "if he does it the way I tell him to, this never would have happened". It doesn't matter if that isn't how you meant it, that is how it comes off.

Anyway, Aero. Maybe this is another good idea from the past.

You stated "two good abilities, shame that I cannot do that other one" for MofoBear's entries. It looks that you liked both entries, however you also state that you think the Chilling Presence couldn't be done.

Details of the Chilling Presence entry.

Personally, I think that it is still possible to create this. It would probably take more work than it really should, but it would still be possible.

Edit: Was there a winner on competition #15? http://tcocampaign.createaforum.com/index.php?topic=35.0
If there was, it wasn't made public. Else, maybe another forgotten idea?

Found something that could be considered unbalanced.

In chapter 3, if you've chosen the starting pack that comes with the Icy Crystal. It is easy to hit the max charges.

You just need to farm the Ghosts that are by the lucky box/Magic Orb.

This becomes very easy once you get Frost Armature; And becomes even easier if you buy the upgrade that double it's effectiveness.

And it only get easier, if you also acquire the Ice Crown. With it you just have to cast Frost Armature, and then move and have Galeoth stand right next to both ghosts.

One should not expect things to happen instantly. Nor should one expect someone to remember one thing when they have hundreds of other things to do.

Aero has put a lot of work and hours into making TCO what it is now. I'm sure he's had awesome ideas, that he just couldn't do at the point in time, and had forgotten about them. I know I have.

a very simple thing he could do would be to write down the possible ideas that he has approved and then stick that note to his pc screen or something. it's not rocket science, but has he done that? doubt so, this thread is the proof.

he might care, but not enough after until a year plus from the first reminder

and i ain't a wc3 coder (and many others likewise aren't either), unless of course some basic website coding had any part in this.

The human brain can only process 7 different things at any given time. It is VERY common for people to forgot something.

So take the idea for an example. He was reading the tread, processing the characters in the posts, thinking about how the sets would work into the campaign, which one he liked better, which one would be better for the campaign.

That right there, is five different things to process. And there was no doubt more to process at that time. So more than likely, he had to stop one thing he was doing, in order to complete something else.

Adding in the thought "I should write this down" adds a lot more things to process. Such as what to use, actually writing it down, spelling correctly and using correct drawing for each character, what to write next.

Now you're probably thinking "That's not a lot", or something to that degree, however for a human brain, it is.

Trying to do more than what a brain can handle, will generally cause sloppy or incomplete work for each process.

Think about this, have you ever trying surfing the web for things people are telling you to, juggling with one hand, riding a unicycle, while singing a song? It is more or less impossible to do everything correctly the first time.

Haha, does it "revive" Galeoth after the timed life/when canceled?

It will always happen. Is that ok?

That's fine. It's a suggested idea for you. You can tweak, and change it how ever you like.

I was just curious.

Reason why I was curious, is because if it always happens, then I can see this being used as not only, a great supporting/damaging spell; But also a quick "oh ****" spell as well*1.

I am just picturing all the ways this can be used in a boss fight. >< it's pretty epic.

*1: It would be also like Fradz's Electro shell, which can be used when you are all of a sudden dying quickly.

How about something like this.

The player has to farm up wisps for the world tree. And the play can do this by different means. Such as moving a wisp out of a maze to safety, killing enough of X creature, defend a conjurer while he conjures up some wisps, ect.

As for soul harvest, you could have the player start out as a skeleton, and his job is to raid a town, and harvest souls, and after so many souls the skeleton becomes more powerful and transforms into a ghoul, and so on.

Another idea would be to take it straight forward. The player has a farmer, and he needs to build up a farm. So he needs to get seeds, some land, a plow, water. You could take it further, and have the goal to store enough food for the winter, and have different types of crops, and have a random amount needed for each type of crop before winter comes.

By the way megmaconqueror, here's your idea. What do you think? I made it more simple by removing the mana / ultimate strike idea. Now it is about same level as Lightning Orb and Ice Demon.

Spoiler (hover to show)

It sounds awesome. Something I would definitely use. I might have to rush a give up if this is coming out soon haha. :D

One question though.

Is the Final Light/Dark going to always happen even when canceled, or does it only happens when the 60 seconds have passed?
