Thanks Aero, it really means a lot to me :)

Hi ! Thanks a lot for this complete Walkthrough :)
I noticed that video 003_Ch_1 has been deleted by You Tube, could you please upload it again ?

I realised this is a month late but I'll check if I have the video saved on my computer. I think I deleted them unfortunately, but there's a chance I may have it lying around somewhere..

Poll Board / Re: Are you an animated gamer? Is yes, How amintated?
« on: April 29, 2013, 09:42:05 pm »
"Is yes, How amintated?"

if this is educated, then yes, i'm under educated. but i think it should read "if yes, how animated?"

 ;D

Well, I voted for a combination of some of them. While gaming I do some really ridiculous things sometimes. I often yell at me, God, or the monitor. I too stand up and start cursing someone...often my sister(don't ask me why). I do other things such as start hitting the wall with my head(okay, i don't do this...) and kicking the ground(not literally of course). When I get too frustrated, I try to meditate a little and think about it, because perhaps there is another way to do what I want... If it doesn't work then I say "It's a conspiracy" and go to sleep ::).

Umm... anger management?

Just joking :D

I get angry all the time when gaming, I just control it and don't let it affect others or me or anything else. Everyone gets angry, it's how you act on it that makes you an awesome guy or a jerk that no one likes to game with :)

Especially in multiplayer games like Dota I used to get really frustrated and would literally curse under my breath and really try to get back at the player who messed me up. Then I realised it was affecting my enjoyment of the game, my performance at the game, and affecting other people too, friends teammates etc. Now I've changed my mentality. During Dota, this is my checklist when something makes me mad:
Was it my fault?
Yes = ah well, think about how I can improve so it doesn't happen again
No = ah well, nothing I can do then, think about what I can do now

In any situation, just think rationally. Sit back, ah well, and think about what you can do now to fix it rather than on what's already happened. That immediately kills the anger and activates the positive part of your brain.

Off-Topic / Re: What are your first thoughts of name "Gheiz"?
« on: April 29, 2013, 09:28:28 pm »
Sorry for the misunderstanding :)

Can I haz one cheeky post to explain myself? Explaining leads to explaining just like megma said :D

It was referring to Jael, there is nothing wrong with your post Shin at all. You're free to explain yourself to avoid misunderstandings I was just pointing out that normally people don't explain themselves like that, because they know their fellow members of the forum will be nice and understanding even if they post something daft. The fact that you did explain yourself suggests you're feeling under pressure and want to avoid anyone attacking your post. Why do I care? Because people shouldn't be under that kind of pressure, its unhealthy and affects your enjoyment of using forums. Imagine if for example all the time you had to be really careful not to put a toe out of line because you were afraid someone would shout at you? Fun life right?

I admit I don't know much I've only seen a few posts, maybe Jael is an awesome funny joking guy. From what I saw he just seems to be attacking people randomly and it looked out of order to me. Criticism is not a problem, making jokes is not a problem, you've seen his posts so you know if he is always like this or if I've only seen the bad posts. But IF this has got to point where he is making people feel under pressure to not give him an excuse to attack their posts, then frankly you need to do something. It's the mods job to ensure the forum is a friendly, productive place to relax and IF people are upsetting that you gotta take action. And don't worry that's not abusing mod powers, that's protecting the forum from people who will (whether they realise or not) ruin it.

So if you ever feel like for example you are having to take extra special care with your spelling or punctuation or grammar (or anything) because you feel someone is gonna shout at you, there is something wrong with the atmosphere and it needs fixing!

Funny, look how defensive you are about your simple name suggestions (all those PS notes just to explain yourself).

It sounds like you're self conscious because some people seem to like aggressively challenging and criticizing things people post just because they can. Lovely friendly behaviour.

Why is this Jaelbird guy rampaging through the forum causing problems? If all you've got to say is unconstructive criticism and sarcasm then get lost. Really.

Anyhow, Gheiz sounds unique alright, but more like a jokey character. Doesn't really seem like someone powerful and awesome. Then again it doesn't really matter, name sounds alright you can use it however you like!

Idea Factory / Re: Is it Intelligence, Intellect, Magic or other?

I'd vote for intelligence but only because I like warcraft 3 and the way they did it :)

Knowledge makes sense, magic too.

This Jaelbird fella needs to chill out. What's with the unconstructive direct criticism? From a completely neutral point of view, reading some of your comments it sounds like you have issues with people.

How 'bout they meet one of the minions of the epic boss, and through miscommunication become one of the minions and are tasked to gather up souls for the epic boss so he can create more minions. And then after X amount of souls, they are tasked to bring it all to a store room; and in there the spell that turned them into a skeleton breaks.

With a spur of the moment decision, they loot as much as they can for the farmers (Phodom) or Himself (Fradz). They would have X amount of time to loot before they are discovered. The store room would contain a bunch of random things, potions, gold, food, chairs, tables, ect.

Then they have to fight their way out freeing as many trapped souls as possible (killing as many minions as possible) within a time limit. But here's the twist, the amount of stuff they looted, slows the down. So all of the random things would have some weight value that would slow them down by X movement speed.

As for rewards, they would vary on different factors. Such as (time to collect X souls * 0.5) = exp, total items looted * 50 = gold, and # of souls freed * 0.05 % bonus gold and exp. Something like that.

Okay, so remove, the last three paragraphs, and the last sentence of the first paragraph.

With the task of gathering souls, they have to go through different puzzles to get each soul.

One can be a maze puzzle, where they have to dodge guards, farmers, ect. And the player would have a limited sight range.

Another could be a logic puzzle. Such as the lucky box puzzle in chapter 1.

And the next one could be like "pick one door" kind of puzzle. So there would be two paths, and one leads to a soul, and the other loops on it's(sends the player back to the start).

Then another could be a jigsaw puzzle. For this they could have been "shrunken" and have to unlock a lock, so they have to push the "pins" into the correct spot.

Personally I think the pick one door kind of puzzle is a bit overused, and isn't really strategic just remembering (or writing down) a long sequence of doors.

The maze puzzle sounds like fun though. Fast reactions and limited sight :)

I know this is a month too late, but anyway here's a playlist I made of HD videos for a complete run through of TCO version 1.8e/f

Not the latest version unfortunately.

Sorry I just saw this now, it's been a while!

I'm uploading the elite boss for you DBS, its part of a full chapter 4 video. I'll link it and message you when its done if you still want to see it after all this time lol.

Regarding Francesca losing you 30k gold over the course of the game, I still think the permanent stats it gives makes it worth it for me anyway. Because you can only have so many items in the game (6 per hero), so something like permanent stats or HP is far more valuable than anything that can take up an item slot. In the latter chapters you end up with full 6 slots too easily anyway, I didn't really find lack of gold a problem.

Of course this may have changed with the new campaign versions, I haven't played in a while!

Hi Hamza, i just finished a **** no giveup playthrough as well. Followed pretty much the same strategy of magic dmg as you after watching your extremely helpful videos. however i planned out which synthesis items i was going to attempt to buy pretty early on and knew i would have to make several compromises on some useful items in order to be able to afford the really good stuff later on.

Hence, i decided to not go for francesca or any of its major components, ditto for soldiers set, magic orbs, night and day, damanthes set, etc. the result was that while the early chapters were slightly harder, the later ones became a little easier. in chapter 8, i was able to synthesize aero, crown of magic, shadow set, tera ring, rune cloak and magma cloak and get a stack of 11 greater magic balls (reduced to 10 for the hunter quest at the end). In retrospect, a 5th zozi synthesis item was easily possible but my choices would have been pretty limited and it could probably not have been anything other then Andenaj III (which i personally find pretty pointless to upgrade to given its exorbitant costs and minimal benefits).

Definitely think you should attempt another play-through with a more optimized item build plan to show what all is possible by the end of the campaign once the next chapters are released (and the *#$%(%*$ ch. 4 epic boss fixed since i can't see a DPS phodom build possible until then) :)

Nice one mate! I know this is a late reply but anyhow :)

Yeah in my new no death HC DPS Phodom playthrough that I started I didn't bother with a quite a few items as you mentioned, aiming to get the most powerful late game build possible. As you noticed in this playthrough, I was left with a crazy extra 30k gold or something in chapter 8 that wasn't doing anything. It's definitely worth skipping some items early as a trade off to make the later levels easier.

I don't think skipping Francesca is a good idea though, as it gives something which has an effect throughout the game, which is the permanent stat increases. That's also a reason why Andenaj parts are so good - permanent HP increase. I'm not sure how good the extra 30-50 or so stats will be in the later chapters, but the fact that you get stat gain without wasting an item slot is an advantage that I'd rather not let go of.

The biggest problem I predict with DPS phodom build is when you get to the Healer boss, as I'm sure it's going to be extremely hard to beat him. Magic damage Fradz is really useless, and DPS Phodom is not as strong as DPS Fradz. I have actually got up to halfway through chapter 5 (the Ch4 Epic was a pain, can't believe I beat him lol) with the DPS Phodom build in my new playthrough, but I don't think I will find the time to finish it at the moment. University projects are sapping my strength!

Hey everyone,

I've taken all bugs from the first page and it won't be updated anymore until the next version. I'm now very close and I'm fixing last bugs right now while testing chapter 9.

Good stuff! Looking forward to it :)

True, I apologize. After all your hard work :)

In my defence I'm posting from my phone and it is actually quite a lengthy and difficult process to open a new tab, navigate to the item list and then try to locate the required information, using this phone browser!

I have to agree with doom here, no need to ask the same question twice, including making a whole thread lol. No probs since it's your first time but for future reference just ask in the help thread and if someone is going to answer, they will answer there.

Obviously your question has now already been answered over there, be sure to have a look!

Also I should just mention that if you want an answer asap and really can't wait (I know how it is) feel free to use the PM function to message me, or any other long-time forumer. I am sure they will answer you much faster than via the help threads.
