Idea Factory / Megmaconqueror's Idea Factory? :D
« on: May 03, 2013, 01:46:19 pm »
Okay, so I'm going just start putting down ideas for the campaign here. They will have different formats (which you'll see what the formats are) so they will be easier to read.

There is also going to be a poll, for you to vote on which you think is the best idea/variation of the idea.

You can also submit your variations if you want to! I'll add it to line up on the poll post.

Formats:
Spoiler (hover to show)

Current format: Item

Variation 1
Gatharoth

+400 damage
+20% damage
+35% attack speed
+100 all stats
+20 armor
+25% life steal.

Every continuous attack increases attack speed by 2% and damage by 1%. When used the wielder becomes imbued with rage and hatred. In this state, the wielder gains +100% attack speed, + 100% damage, and deals (STRx3) bonus damage for 10 seconds. During this time, the wielder loses 3% of max health per second. Cooldown 120 seconds.

The idea is that "Gatharoth" is the embodiment of wrath/rage. So this revolves around "Rage", increased attack speed, and damage. With a repercussion since there is usually some repercussion that comes with "going into a rage".

Variation 2

Gatharoth

+200 damage
+35% attack speed
+45 all stats
+15 armor
+5% damage
+100 movement speed

Every attack adds one charge. Every 5 charges adds 1% attack speed. Every 10 charges adds 1% damage. Can be used to gain +100% attack speed, and + 100% damage for 10 seconds. Cost's 100 charges to use. Max of 250 charges

Poll Board / Are you an animated gamer? If yes, How animated?
« on: April 29, 2013, 01:47:06 am »
Notice: If you aren't really doing a variation of the options in the poll, or are doing it "subtly", then I do not consider you an animated gamer.*1

For me, I'm the forth option. I'll go full blown standing up and moving around while cursing the tv/monitor when I get into games.

If I'm not totally into the game, I will be a combination of the second and third.

Even when playing TCO, I'll shove my chair back and start yelling saying something like "WHY THE F*** DIDN'T YOU F***ING MOVE BACK! DAMNIT (insert character name here) DON'T BE AN IDIOT!!" haha ^^;

*1: I noticed a few people that I wouldn't consider animated gamers, so I figured I'd elaborate on my definition of an animated gamer.

Bug & Balance / Test results for Aero
« on: April 27, 2013, 12:26:46 pm »
Galeoth's Order: Hotkey is not working. And doesn't show up in the multiboard. Doesn't add bonus damage.

Magical Fog: Does not show up in the multiboard.

Counter attack: Only adds 50 damage. Will teleport anyone who is attacked.

Fire Power: Fire balls do not disappear when an ability is used.

Spinning death: Can not be cancelled unless Phodom is moved. Deactivating should not cost mana.

Ultimate Sacrifice: Does not appear in multiboard.

Shield Of Fire: Has no visual effect.

I didn't find anything else wrong, with the test version I have.

Questionnaire / Megmaconqueror

1) Gameplay - What do you think about the gameplay. For example, are the abilities, items and spell book spells fine? Is there too much killing? Is the campaign too repetitive?

The gameplay is great, at least if you are taking difficulty into the equation.

Personally, with the lower difficulties, I find the gameplay too repetitive, and kind of dull. I guess that is just a side effect from playing on the harder difficulties.

The abilities, items, and spell book spells are great. I'm very eager to try different combinations of items, and abilities/spells.

4/5

It would be a 5/5, if it weren't for the unavoidable side-effect from playing on harder difficulties.

Quote
2) Bosses - What do you think about the bosses at the campaign? Are they challenging, balanced, different and unique enough? What is your favorite boss and what boss could need some improvements?

While I haven't gotten through to many of the bosses, I think they are good.

I believe the bosses in the early chapters could do with a bit more of a random factor to their attacks. And maybe bump up their challenge a bit. I am able to clear them very easily on ****, with no real threat to dying.

I can't say I have a favorite boss just yet, I haven't seen many of them to decide.

Overall I give a 4.5/5

Quote
3) Difficulty - What is your opinion about the difficulties. What difficulty did you play? What was your impression about it? Do you think the difficulties are balanced enough or do they need improvements?

I love the difficulties, they offer solutions to different needs. For an example, for someone who's looking for a challenge, the hard+ difficulties are great; while someone who's wanting to play a little more laid back and/or focus more on the story, normal and below are great for them.

I have been playing on **** because I love the idea of one live only. It makes me think every action through before doing it. As well as come up with unique ways to solve puzzles, such as a mini-boss or a large group of enemies.

Mmm... I can't really say what my first impression is. It was too long ago :D

I think they are balanced and don't need any tweaking to them.

5/5

4) Terrain - What do you think about the terrain? Is it eye candy or not? What you believe is the most beautiful place and what should be improved.

The terrain looks great and is definitely eye candy.

As I've said above, I haven't gone through much of TCO, so I cannot pick one as of yet.

I do think the terrain can be improved. There are small things, like being able to walk into a giant rock, or building that could be fixed. They tend to ruin the feel of the game when something walks right through them. Aside from that, everything is great.

3.5/5

Quote
5) Atmosphere - What do you think about the atmosphere of the campaign? Too funny? Too sad? And what about music, does it fit?

I don't think much about the atmosphere of the campaign. Mainly because that's not where my head is at. I'm more focused on the battles, and what I need to do to complete the campaign and for my character.

I generally have sound disabled and my own music playing. So I cannot comment on the music.

I give a 5/5, because I love TCO. But I would like to note that this is NOT a real opinion on this matter.

Quote
6) Story - What do you think about the story. Is too simple or confusing? Is it mysterious and complicated enough? What is your favorite character?

I love the story so far. It isn't too simple or confusing.

The mystery is what has me hooked. ;D

All three of the player controlled heroes are my favorite. However, I do feel that Phodom is out of place when compared to the other two. While the other two come off as a bit insane, Phodom is more level headed.

4/5

7) Cinematics - What do you think about the cinematics. Tell what is the worst and the best cinematic and why.

I love the cinematics so far.

As said in questions 4, and 2. I haven't gone through much of the campaign, so I cannot pick a worst and best cinematic.

4/5

8) All things considered, how would you describe your playing experience the game? What could be done better and what you believe doesn't anymore need my attention?

I would have to say my playing experience is pretty epic.

I don't think there is anything that could be done better.

Personally, I believe that a little more attention/extra help, is needed for bug fixing. And by bug fixing, I am addressing the major ones that cause crashes.

3.5/5

9) Would you recommend this campaign to your friends?

If I had some, and if they played wc3. Yes!

(why do I need to put a rate on this???) 5/5

Quote
10) How did you found this campaign? You might have any hints for me to bring this campaign more to the daylight? Some sites for example where I could advertise the campaign?

I don't remember how I found this campaign. I probable just googled for "wc3 custom campaign" and eventually found it. :D

Sadly I don't have any hints to help advertise. D=

5/5 (again, why rating here???)

Walkthroughs & Strategies / Strategie Debate: What is you spell build?
« on: October 28, 2010, 11:49:45 pm »
Alright alright, I know this won't be much of a debate. But hey, I still want to know how everyone plays TCO.

Notes/Rules
1) You do NOT have to do every character
2) You are NOT limited to one build
3) You are NOT limited in using spells only in the game
4) You CAN use a spell you would like to suggest for the hero
5) You CAN use spell book spells.
6) You SHOULD only list the spells you use, passives are included.
7) you MUST list at least ONE spell build to be apart of this debate
7a) Administrators are NOT bound in any way to the above rule, but it is preferred if they did follow it.
8) If items are a main part of your spell build, please list them as an item. "Item: (item name)"

Alright, anyway, here is how it'll go, you first list spells by character, so like this.
  • (Charater Name): (Spell build name, or "(your name here)'s Spell build)
  • Spell 0
  • Spell 1
  • Spell 2
  • Spell 3
  • Spell 4

And so on. After EACH spell build, list its strengths then ANY weakness you find. So for an example of above's spell build

Quote
Strengths: This build is great for short bursts of high dps making it easy for you to take down that mini boss easily without risking others

Quote
Weaknesses: Lacks long term dps, is mana dependent, weakens the character's survivability for long battles like epic bosses.

If there is a counter to the weaknesses in the build being solved by items, please state which item and how it counters the weakness. For an example.

Quote
Item counters: (insert hp and armor bonus item here) increases the characters survivability, and (insert major mana regeneration item here) makes those short bursts of high dps much longer because of the increased mana/sec giving the character more mana to fire off that high dps.

Okay, now that the builds is out of the way, next step. DEBATING!

Alright, after reviewing someone's spell build, list any weaknesses you see,  any comments, any modifications, or any strengths that you think they missed. An example below.

Quote
  • Weakness: The short bursts of high dps will make it hard with a huge mob.
  • Strength: The high dps will make it great with a huge mob because its AoE.
  • Comments: That's a great build, I think I'll try it.
  • Modification: Instead of (item/spell name here) you should try (item/spell name here), or use (item/spell name here) after using (item/spell name here)

Alright, I think that is it. If you think I missed anything, or if there is something that shouldn't be there, or if you think I should add another rule/note, just leave it in the reply like below.

Quote
Note: I think you should (what ever you think here)

Idea Factory / Spell Remake? Shield of fire
« on: October 20, 2010, 08:09:01 pm »
Going off of Aero from my debate thread, here is what I've come up with.

Shield of fire: instant heal + armor = ((abilvlx2) + (agi/3) + magbonus)/20.

You have to admin that the calculation is pretty decent considering how it could end up. With both Shield of fire, and Fire master at level 20. With 300 agi, it comes to 107 armor bonus. With ability levels 2, agi 24, it comes out to be 10.6

Walkthroughs & Strategies / Strategie Debate: Spell builds
« on: October 20, 2010, 03:58:49 am »
Alright, well, HellHeaven will know what this is for :P

For everyone else, here's an update.

Me and HH are debating on which is better suited for Phodom. Fire Mastery (me) or Aura of Fire (HH).

My arguements are (shorted)
  • Fire Mastery will improve Shield of Fire's healing a lot
  • Shield of fire will heal more than any of the other healing spells, including Fradz's
  • In the time Shield of fire lasts, aura of fire, will reduce about 128 (ranged only) where as Shield of fire will heal 1088 health.
  • Fradz's healing spell would only heal (speculation on stats) 688 hp and 440 mana, at lvl 20 and no lightning mastery
  • Heaven's Bless will only heal 347 with out Fire Mastery. (speculation on if revival is not instant) And if Phodom dies near the end of the buff, that leaves Fradz, and Galeoth open for a quick death.
  • Tanks need HPS, and he's got the best HPS spell, and it only gets better with Fire Mastery. (my opinion, not a fact)

HH's arguments (shortend also)
  • In later chapters you won't be using Phodom's spells that much thus rendering Fire Mastery useless
  • By using Heaven's Bless, you don't have to worry about healing or potions
  • Aura of Fire is meant for tank, since it reduces damage done. (Going off of HH's suggestion of Aura of fire, and 10 hits in 10 seconds) 128 from ranged units, and deals 420 damage to melee units. That with Silver Set and Red Orb set, he would kill any normal monster with out any physical attack or spell

So anyway, there's our standings, what's your thoughts? Got anything to add to either side?

Note: There's more to be added to HH's arguments, but i have to go to bed now, its late.

Introduce / I hate doing this >.<
« on: October 20, 2010, 03:28:20 am »
I hate introductions. -.- FYI

Ums, for the most part I used megmaconqueror for just about every account. Idky, but people are lazy **** (no offense) and only call me meg O.o I think they think I'm a chick, idk.

I use short hand a lot, for like, "I don't know" or "I don't know why" not sure why, just used to it I guess. Ums.... 18 years of age, 19 this december. Ums.... I live in the slums of a rich city, which is kinda odd, cus like, if its a rich city, why the hell are there a slums part? O.o o.O go figure cities >.<

I love to argue, I'll pick a side based on my likes, basically. O.o like for an example, Fire Mastery vs Aura of Fire. I vote for Fire Mastery because of the better bonuses, well their better bonuses in my opinion.  Anyway, I put on a front of being evil, which in itself isn't really a front, but like, not the same level as I really am. O.o o.O I'm a freak I know, and I don't care XP Ums.... blah blah blahh, something something something. I suck and hate introductions!! (:o) I'm a hard-core gamer, but not the type that dresses up like a game character, or goes to conventions. And by hard-core, I mean, if I didn't have stuff I HAD to do, I'd be playing video games..... unhealthy. I know. But hey, I love video games >.<

I found this site cus.... my internet went out one day, and I was poking around single player, and found the 3.3a version of TCO. And decided to see if Aero ever got back on it. And BOOM he did >.< Thanks Aero :D

Ums... so yeah, like I said, I like to argue, so if like, I start arguing with you, its not cus I don't agree with your opinion or anything, I just want to argue XP Oh and yes, I won't be agreeing with your opinion during the arguement, BECAUSE it wouldn't be an arguement if I agreed with you, it'd just be an agreement, which kind sucks O.o
