Title: Competition #24
Post by: Aeroblyctos on March 06, 2011, 04:20:55 am
Competition Idea
This competition is idea is create your own fighter for Gladiator Arena. The Gladiator Arena is a place where you can fight in different leagues against opponents in chapter 7. To create your own fighter, you must find a good model and then create some abilities the fighter will use. The gladiator fighters are always summoned in random order, so your character can be a weak first level fighter or a an elite last gladiator arena boss, so balance it well!
Hints
- Select a Blizzard model or you can find some good models from here (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models.php) - The fighter should have basic abilities, but not necessary - The fighter should have special events, but not necessary - The fighter should have passive abilities, but not necessary
Here is one of my own fighters to give you an example:
Competition Rules
- The idea have to be yours. - You can make unlimited amount of entries. - I will have all the rights to edit the rules all the time(I will do it correctly and I will be fair for everyone).
Competition Prizes
The winner of this competition will have his or her name to Hall Of Fame and will be credited as "Competition Winners" and "Idea Giver". If you have one more than once you'll be credited automatically as "Great Idea Giver". Also any other ideas that I'll use will be credited as "Idea Giver".
Judging
I'm the only one who will judge the winner of the competition. I will judge all entries. The amount of entries you post will not decrease your chance to win in any way. However, if there are a lot of entries or horrible entries, I'll have the right to kick some of them away in order to make the final judge easier for me.
Deadline
The competition begins immediately and conclude -.
Final Words
Good luck, may the best idea win. If you have questions, ask.

Vital Stab: Causes foe to lose 1%(+0.12%) hp per second for 7 seconds. Costs 50 Mana. Blinding dust: Causes foe to miss 70% of the time for 15 seconds. Costs 25 mana.
Passives:
Slashing Vitals: 1% chance per 100(-5) damage dealt to cause foes to get a stacking vital stab that causes foes to lose 1% hp per second for 3 seconds. Blood Rage: Gains 5% attack speed and 1% damage for every 7% hp lost. Blood Greed: Attacks deal an extra 5(+1)% of target's hp in damage. Costs 10 mana each attack.
Event:
Revenge: revives after death to fight again for 15(+5) seconds.
Other:
Blood Thirst: Every attack steals 10(+5)% of damage dealt in health and gives it to Blood.
Notes: Any + or - is going off of level starting at 1 and then maxing at 9. So Revenge total time maxes at 60 seconds, while slashing vitals will gain 1% chance for every 55 damage dealt at max.

Heeeyyy!!
It's almost SUNDAY and one entry! Come on guys!
You don't need to find any models. Just think a cool boss name and some abilities for it. It's not that hard! :o
I need some ideas for those fighters. I really don't want to put same ideas as I have already added.

Event:
Soul splitter: Takes away 50% of each enemies' current health and coverts it into souls (1 * # of enemies) at the cost of 40% health and 5 second stun (on self)
Other: Every (random # between 1 and 30) seconds a soul(with up to 5 additional souls added [lvl 2-7]) is created.

I'll postpone once again the deadline. The competition will end once we have at least four entries from different people.

Doesn't take much time to convert a dota hero to a gladiator fighter. Just remember that it's controlled by computer and the battle should be tactical.

Got a second idea i think :D.
Name: Elemental Invoker Hp: 30000-60000 Ms: 350 As: 1.2 per second Base damage: 250
Basic Abilities:
Pilar of Fire: While this pilar is alive he will be able to cast a incinerate spell that will deal damage over time (400)(800) for 3 second and silence the hero in that duration (he cast it every 10 second).
Pilar of Ice: While this pilar is alive he will have a chilling aura that will heavy slow MS and As [10%(15%)MS and 20%(30%)As ]of enemies fighting him.
Pilar of Lighting: While this pilars is alive randomly all enemies will recieve damage [400(800)] and be purged for 2 seconds.
Pilar of Darkness: While this pilar is alive he will be able to cast a heavy burst of damage [1200(1500) for headstart should be okay]
Pilar of Light: While this pilar is alive he cast a holy light on himself that will heal 3(5)% of his max hp every 10 seconds.
Passive:
Elemental Summon: He summon the 5 pilars when battle start and revive 15 seconds ( 2 seconds less revive time for every extra pilar that is destroyed, that means that if 2 pilars are currently destroyed he will revive both in 13 seconds and so on) after they are destroyed.
Elemental Mastery: Every Pilar that survive 10 seconds will have their effects increased by 10% and so on for every other 10 seconds it survives.
Event:
One random pilar will be enhances and will start to shine, if that pilar is not destroyed within 6 seconds He will cast the spell of that pilar with 100% more effective that it currently is.
Extra info: Each pilar have 2000(3000) hp and with 30 armour (type of armour is purely your choice).

Name: Dark Rider / Shadow Swordsman Attack Damage: 90 - 120. Attack Speed: Very (Very Very Very Very) Fast. Hit Point: 30000 Movement Speed: Very Fast. Mana: 10000. Attack Range: Melee.
Active Abilities:
Confusion: Upon using this skills, the Dark Rider will summon copies of him on the arena, which they are only shadows, deal no damage and killed in one hit, while the real one is hiding amongst all of the fake one. When the shadows are killed, play the mirror image effect if possible and make it black like the color of a shadow instead of the original green.
Passive Abilities:
Evasion: Because of the Dark Rider / Shadow Swordsman is a shadow and doesn't have a fixed shape, this gives the Dark Rider / Shadow Swordsman a 40% chance to evade enemy's attack. If it is possible, instead of just playing the plain and old boring sign where the "miss" word come out when the opponent miss, make the Orb of Darkness missile death appear on the user's body.
Shadow Strike: When the Dark Rider / Shadow Swordsman is below 60% of his maximum hit point, this skill will be activated, and after this is activated, every time the user land an attack, it will be teleported to a random direction around the opponent and land an attack again, after landing the attack, he will be teleported again and such. This will cause the fighter to be unable to or at least, hard to aim the user to aim their spell on. Hero who have an Area of Effect stun that expand on an AoE around the hero like Phodom's stun skill would make this enemy's skill useless though, because even though he teleported, he only appear on the other side of the enemy but is still in range of his attack, which is melee.
Shadow Form: When the Dark Rider / Shadow Swordsman is below 5% of his maximum health, he will enter his Shadow Form, which grants him an 80% evasion (play the same effect when the attacked miss) and shadow walk (appearing and disappearing all the time).
Note: I tried to make this opponent as unique as possible by making it focuses more on confusion, misses and speed rather than on damage and spells, because after playing The Chosen One for a long time and fought many bosses, I don't seem to cross on a boss that focuses on speed and confusion. Even though with his low damage, his very high attack speed alone is enough to cover his low attack damage.

At the moment I'm doing other stuff but eventually will start to update gladiator arena.

I judged this time differently. I picked the best models and ideas and combined them to my own ideas and models. The result was many different kind of fighters. All entries are used in a way or another in the campaign.
However, who wins?
Is it maninblack? He gave many entries, but none of them were a top quality ideas. There were some nice ideas however that I'll use.
There were three entries that I think was top three. Elemental Invoker from EndlessPain, Dark Rider from Divine Seal and Ethereal Summoner from Tears.
Overrally the best fighter is Dark Rider. So Divine Seal wins the competition so congratulations.
