Title: Close to destruction
Post by: Aeroblyctos on May 06, 2013, 02:17:41 pm
Hey,

I just wanted to show today how close I was to destruction. Without polishing or anything I wrote up that in a short time from my heart. But it seems like my kindness and determination has won again after. I am a fool - I am.

Noo, how could this not really happen? The campaign is a real time-sucker, and each and all of us here are no-lifers who spend too many hours playing a humble campaign that has beyond annoyance loading times.

Damn, damn, damn!

Anyways good job on actually reacting to the community instead of being overly positive as you have. If this had happened, I'd have posted:

"I went outside
the closedown of TCO
made me do it."

Well, if this is an end, you've done a great job at this Aero. Know that you campaign is the best one i've ever played. TCO are in computers of other contries (I'm Brazilian), because its a great game.

A man who sacrificed so much for his dreams. Your determination deserves the highest respect I can give Aero. You always have my full support no matter what.

Has everybody stop payin' attention to Jail-beard's ultimate trolling?
Sad, so do I :-X
Even if our tale ends here it was a great experience. About 100K dl's of campaign - suppose that it means something.

I agree with Doomlord , you are a hard worker who expects less in return , and everybody here repsects that Aero.Reggardless of your decision , the things you mannaged to do with or without realising have been great so far.

Who :D?

Well,
I agree with Doomlord , you are a hard worker who expects less in return , and everybody here repsects that Aero.Reggardless of your decision , the things you mannaged to do with or without realising have been great so far.

That's my line too [-)...

BUT!

To be a little more serious now, I wonder what made you write this post(no, I'm not talking about the reason you would give up, I understand it). Do you think we don't respect or give enough value to what you do? Or you just wanted to say what you thought in a moment of despair and wanted to share with us, since you changed your mind, but still wanted to show us, because keeping quiet about it would be unhealthy?

Well, don't get me wrong. Either way I don't think you did something bad (even if you actually had given up). Just believe more in us and in yourself :).

AND, you can always buy the "Shino's How to Motivate Yourself Kit" ;D. You can get arrested though ::).

Well, if this is an end, you've done a great job at this Aero. Know that you campaign is the best one i've ever played. TCO are in computers of other contries (I'm Brazilian), because its a great game.

Damn it...I'm kind of ashamed of this... And Jael, to manipulate brazilian people is not difficult at all :P.

Well I don't really post here but hm, why not.  So if I am to assume correctly, you were so "close" to destruction. Ah well I think this doesn't mean you're done with the campaign. Now that's good, I like that you still have the determination and motivation to continue. You are very unlike me. I am quickly bored with projects I start myself.

That being said, it seems like you're still continuing and still have motivation. I'm happy for this because I still have the motivation to help you once I'm off of college (like a week left). I never doubted you'd stop though, even though you've been so close so many times. I know you've been close many times because sometimes you tell me, sometimes I've seen it in the texts you write or at least I think. In that way though, I'm glad you haven't tipped over that point because ever since alpha I've always wanted this game to succeed. I wanted to help in every way possible to make it better. This was to the point I spent hours meticulously writing bugs and suggestions while playing through it. Well that's how it all started anyhow.

Still, like I said before. I'm glad you're continuing it. And yes, to me it'd be a tragedy if you stopped, even if it is your choice and I'd respect it. For me, I think true defeat would be stopping though, not finishing what you started even though it's lasted so long and the end seems not even visible. I guess what I'm saying is, I've had this type of true defeat before, and it's filled with regret and what could have been. It also is in a way, at least for me, a way to be even de-motivational. Though the fact, at least from what I've read, that you're still continuing is even inspiring. Few can say that they've worked so hard on a project for so many years through whatever in life and then stuck with it. Kept working on it hours on end and making it better. To me, that's something truly to appreciate and I thank you for continuing.

Keep working hard Aero, you got a lot of supporters behind you and you'll succeed I'm sure because you keep working even when times seem bleak. I'm glad I got to work with you on whatever you sent me for as long as you did and I'm glad that this project hasn't died, even when many I see around me inevitably has.

That's all I wanted to say really, sorry if it was a bore, it seems you wrote from the heart and it was only fair I did as well. Man, I don't post that much anymore do I? Ah well, see ya guys later.

It's been years since my last visit to this website (or not)
And you still on your way fulfill your dream, you are a true man, Aero.
For what you have done for yourself, for the campaign, for all of us, I love and miss you sincerely!
Even though i do not play Warcraft 3 anymore, i swear that i will come back and replay the whole campaign 'till the end if you mean to complete it.
Do what you choose, do what you want to do, do what you dream to do!

Damn killa you make us weep in here.I wasn't on the old forums(even tough I played some alpha vers) but I wish I was.I remember chatting with Aero and Flecky(yes , flecky , he knows the dude for longer then you might think) about the "old times".From what I understood , the main people who helped and got Aero's attention were Kitabatakae(hope I spelled that right)  and Killa(especially Killa).

It's nice to see someone who knew aero since the start and is still with us , today , still supporting him.

Weather or not you give up Aero , know that your work wasn't in vain as you might think , you brought joy     and laughter with the campaign , you created some bonds with the website. You might not remember now but when we first met(on hive)  when I created a message  in which I tell you about how Even Icefrog has something to learn from you , you thanked me for bringing your morale up(your PC wasn't working or something). And hopefully the comments of this thread will do the same.

It has been a very long time Aero... I know that this day will come, not because I didn't my trust in you, but because I know that you still have your own life. I promised you to make a mobile version of TCO, well... I tried but it is far beyond my ability... make a games is not that simple.. it's not thing that one person can do... I tried and I gave up without telling you that...

Since that day I didn't talk to you again, actually I think I don't have the right to talk to you. You was trying your best to complete the project while I broke my promise and live my life.. I always watch you from behind.. but never dare to show up..

Hearing your words, I know that it is not a April fool joke anymore, it's for real.. I was sad at first, but while I was typing these lines, I think that you chose the right thing. I'm happy that now you're released so that you can live your happy life. You deserve that more than anymore in this forum. I heard you said before: "people come and go...". I think I can understand that somehow, it also happened to me when I made the mobile version of TCO... but I can't blame anyone on anything, they also have their own lives..  That time I was sad. I couldn't finish what I promised.

You should rest Aero. Now it 's only for yourself, but in the future, you have a family to take care of. I believe that everyone in this forum want you to be happy more than to finish this project.

My friend, I hope you all the best. Still looking forward to drinking with you in Vietnam.
... and sorry for breaking my promise..

Thanks Aero for everything that you have made.

A few years ago i was in hospital and i was able to play your TCO. IT was very helpful in this part of my life because you've added possitive emotions to my hearth. When i played in your game i was very happy and i was able to "survive" in this boring and full of pain place. I will never forgot this when i was crying after i finished this game.

i... just dont know what to say. Please make your life better and then come back :) I really want to see your project finished.

sorry for my bad english :)

As a person that actually hates forums i still reply here to prove that the effort has not gone to waste. I appreciate you making this campaign very much and, even though i don't have the time to play every single version thoroughly i made my way through about 5 or 6. Me and a couple of friends keep checking your site for updates and wait for it to be ready. It is amazing what you have done so far and even if it would never be in its finished state it is already an awesome game. Though i can not even guess how much effort there is still to put in this to make it to the state you want it to be in i can tell you: There are people out there that love what you do and many more that would reinstall wc3 just to be able to play your masterpiece. Whatever you are doing, i am really looking forward to playing it again :)

PS: You already wrote about the gameplay not being this important to you. I always thought the gameplay is quite good. I daresay i like the bossfights but on hand of the skills they are quite good yet. Thus it may not be entirely worthwhile taking too much time improving the already existing parts of gameplay in this so you can focus on the more important parts. I look forward to hearing from you in the future ;)

Hi Shin,

It doesn't matter who misunderstood who. Actually I just want to say that.. Aero deserves a happy life. And if giving up this project can help him achieve that, I really think that he should do that.

Okay, NOW I understood.
And I have to disagree with you in one thing
.
.
.
Misunderstoods DO matter, if they happen they can turn into death and death is not good.

What do I mean? Let's put like this: Everyone in the forum posted here in a way like this "Aero, the campaign is awesome, it would be sad for you to stop, but if it's your decision, I'll respect :)." which is similar what some people posted. BUT, let's say that Aero's english was cursed or something and then he misunderstood the posts for something like this "I don't care what you do. Just do what you want.". He would feel so sad and hurt that he REALLY would stop doing the campaign...think about it :P.
If people said "No! I didn't want you to stop...really, I'm so sad...but...I can't stop you, can I :'(", he could also misunderstood for this "No! Don't stop! I didn't give you the permition to do so!" and, again, stop doing the campaign, thinking that the people aren't valuing him. In the worst case scenario, he could use his admin-god-like powers to kill us all via internet :o! Or stalk us in real life until we kill yourselves!

See? Misunderstoods can be dangerous, I tell you :o!

Hey Aero!

Just wanted to say I love your work and I admire your dedication, I wish I had a quarter of it! Glad to hear your carrying it through to the end, your campaign is the main reason I keep WC3 around =) It has so much creativity and humor, thanks again for everything.

I haven't yet read any of your replies but I will continue this week to create my own magazine which is a huge job. So this week too I won't be working on the campaign. It's better to take some vacation from the campaign.

I have no idea how to fix that 'lag bug' but I will investigate the problem same as I did with chapter 2 and 3 puzzles.

I'm tired of Jaelbird or whatever he wants to call himself attitude and I decided to ban him for three days.

I don't wanna quote here today everyone but you guys know that I'm not a give upper and the project will continue in a way or another. Superb thanks for all the support.

I really was at the edge. Last two weeks I've worked on this magazine and it's pretty awesome. Last thing and I'm ready to be a real journalist. My teacher said that it's the longest magazine created this year(don't know if it's the best, haha). These two weeks have taugh me that it's better to finish something I've so much given effort last years.

I will have a lot time less in the future because of the job.

Next I'm gonna fix a few bugs and then finish chapter 10. I watched yesterday bosses I've already created for the chapter and I realized it will not take a long time just to finish the most basic things(main quest line + elite). However, I'm not sure about creating other optional stuff for now(epic and optional quests).

I could just release chapter 10 half done(no optional quests + epic) within a month.

But I so much can't wait... So much can't wait... To start creating epilogue. It's so damn epic.

FINALLY!! Jail-beard went to the jail-ban. His low-minded trolling and constant whinning were the worst thing on this forum, and 3-day-ban is a minimum justice that he deserves ;D

P.S. If you'll decide to work on corps-bug fixing - again I'm more than ready to test if needed.

Phew... I'm one of those players out there who are waiting silently for more and the final releases.
I really respect your work Aero!
In my opinion it's one of the most enjoyable Games I've ever experienced. Gameplay- and Story-wise.
I'm sure there are much more people out there thinking the same thing.
I'm proud of you that you keep going :) It's a real man's way to finish what he has started! xD
Only great men can create great things.
I just love this masterpiece and it would feel like I've lost something very important in my life if you would end this project X_x Really...
Thanks really much for your hard work!  :)

I am the guy whom only speak when I think it is absolutely necessary. Actually for some reasons I am convinced it currently is.
First of all, I am amazed by your work Aero. It is by far the best campaign I have ever played.
Be sure hundreds of people are supporting you and waiting for the new versions.
I am glad to see your motivation back. You invested so much time in this project and you created 9 very high quality levels !! it is absolutely awesome. Moreover the story is very entertaining, you are clearly talented for that.

I wanted to tell you, last year I worked for a long time on a very complex project and sometimes I wondered if I would managed to finish it. Sometimes I was out of motivation and was seriously thinking to give up. Nevertheless I perservered and eventually finished it, and I can tell you I am very proud of having done it. Something like a self accomplishment, do you see what I am talking about ?
Whatever you can feel right now, I think it is always better to finish what we have started especially when it has been a huge personal investment.
The home straight is often the most difficult step, I think you have reach that point. The good thing is that most of the work already has been have done and to say the truth, I am not worried at all because I am convinced you can do it.

Courage!
