Title: 1.8 Bug Masterthread

To start it off, from a single playthrough on Extreme, after a give up from 1.7k:

Ch 1
3. Holy Cross (starting item for Phodom) doesn't resurrect at all, I died and lost a life
Ch 2 - noted: Fradz lighting elemental ability hasn't appeared! (STILL NOT FIXED)
8. Didn't get the honor point after solving noctariahs obelisk puzzle
9. Ultimate ability Lightning Orb doesn't do any damage at all when it explodes. Useless ulti!!
Ch 3
4. Galeoths vision is WAY too small - UPDATE: happened after a reload.
5. the third omega puzzle, the elemental golems, are impossible to do unless you go full magic damage build (all nukes, magician staff, etc)
Ch 4
1. Digsite in bottom middle of map has nothing in it at all
3. Orb of nature says "+10 vitality", I think vitality was supposed to be gone.
Ch 5
1. FRADZ HAS NO ABILITIES. Can't explain why, but he doesn't have any skills, the bottom 4 slots on his panel are just blank, as well as the ult slot. UPDATE: after gaining a ability point at level 22, you can now use and pick any ability of Fradz.
2. Dimanthe's left sword says its part of an item set 1/4, when it is actually 1/3
4. River turtles are neutral and you do not attack them by default
5. Dig spot to mid west of map, gives trinket of kindness. This is kinda useless as you can get it from previous Chapter by stealing Meliupoli (or maybe from a dig spot)
6. Fradz's lightning elemental skill: Levels don't increase the stats (damage or health) of the elemental at all.
9. all lives disappeared. I had 10, i died once and had 0, then I died and game over. (The multiboard shows 2 lives at time of death)
10. Can't skip the Talloon cutscenes. They are pretty long.
11. Description of all gems is broken
12. Zocmos gloves in ch 1 shop, is called ==== Chapter 1, XXX ====

14th Aug 2012
Ch 1
1. description of family picture not updated to match its true stats
2. no cooldown indicator for family picture
3. some fishtherns dont give gold (fishthern compliants)
4. when you come to a steal enemy, the green help text totally covered my screen (waaaay too much text), although i was at a low resolution at the time
5. family picture move speed is kinda useless as doesn't stack with any boots. maybe make it an aura so it stacks?
6. after killing elder golem green help text says "good job killing the boss, after every boss kill you get honour points..." but its not a boss and you don't get honour points.
7. bottom right dig spot STILL nothing there, text says you found glyph of ability.

Ch 2
1. need to update description for book of regeneration starting pack item Fradz
2. ULTIMATE ORB STILL DOESN'T DO DAMAGE ON EXPLODING
3. ALL BOOKS IN SHOPS have broken descriptions
4. in West Barbarian merchant shop, the 150 ms pathetic boots are called "---chapter 4 lucky box---" UPDATE: the item is now GONE! I liked it :(
5. helmet of sunrise description says it revives you with full HP and Mana. but you come back with 0 mana.
6. the +50ms from Zocmos boots doesn't work at all. Only the 20% movespeed aura.

Ch 4
1. DIG SITE bottom center of map is empty.
2. Fisthern mini boss top center of map drops and you steal from him a poison knife, so you have two.
3. Elite  boss tree thing, when it uses the summon treants spell (you need to walk over entangling roots to stop them) it summons one then channels infinitely doing nothing, so you can't continue.

Ch 5
1. Fradz lost all his skill points, he has no skills learnt at all and  is level 20.
2. Dig spot you get to from Kaza village, said you receive glyph of life, but nothing came out.


15th Aug 2012
Magic Torment combat book doesn't burn any mana off enemies.
Espers don't appear in spellbook (tested only anthranex)
in Ch6 gold/honor/lives are 0 at start.  I checked worldedit and you still use the old loading commands that don't work any more  (load things trigger)

Dig spot Ch 6 center of map, you receive something but I have no idea what it is as no text comes up.




16th Aug 2012
Ch 6
1. Elemental sword recipe is wrong, it doesn't need a sapphire.
2. Elemental Orb is not part of Excaliburs set (but it says Excalibur 1/2 at the bottom)
3. First son Second son Third son make aerial sword, but in descriptions it says "Item set 1/3", it should be "Aerial sword 1/3"
4. MAJOR: Forgotten Ones Quest: I gather all 4 items but the staff doesn't get made at all. Broken quest.
5. Battlemages set doesn't combine, all 4 items present.
6. Potion of Mana does nothing when used
7. Omega Orb 6 stats don't correspond with description. Also Golem doesn't get more powerful at all (stays 30dmg and low HP)

Ch 7
1. Barretts book store appears as an idle worker in war3, with the build option for sale too.
2. ESPERS: Faerga works, but Anthanex hasn't appeared yet in the spellbook. Also flames of war hasn't appeared.
3. nothing in digspot on Hill of Karethos
4. Mighty Horn only increases HP by 200, instead of 2000. Useless item.
5. Glacial Ricochet (Ice spellbook spell) does nothing at all when used.
6. Aero recipe description is wrong, it doesn't require a diamond or a zozi
AERO IS BROKEN! OH NOES!!1
7. Aero only gives 12 all stats, and nothing else. No +damage, no heal when moving, no movespeed, no active invulnerability, NOTHING.
8. Ring of hope and Ring of despair don't combine to form Ring of Enlightenment (Both from Auction Hall)
9. Crown of Magic doesn't provide the +8000 mana in the description
10. How can you do the Medicine quest when there are no more elixirs, as required in the recipe?
11. There are 2 Avenirs, making the secret meeting quest very confusing
12. Shindi gives infinite lucky  clovers
13. Magic Garden Quest: reward is Frigid Wirlpool, which is BANNED.
14. MAJOR: Auction Hall still bugged slightly, after the first visit the number of items drastically reduces. Now continuously the guy puts up a horseshoe, then he attempts to put other items up for auction, but  nothing comes up. "who's ready to bid for..." " !"

Ch 8
1. cinematic when you walk into three dragon slayers (demanthe shindi etc) after the original cinematic. It asks what you would like to see, with 4 options (Galeoth and Demanthe, Fradz and Shindi something like that). I selected Leave, and the game got stuck in cinematic mode. I could see everything as normal, but couldn't give any commands to anyone. Had to restart.



FIXED
Chapter 1
1. Tooltip for chaotic rift spell in prologue (see bug_1 screenshot)
2. Blazing fury cleave still doesn't work
4. Phodom has +10 armor, can't see where it comes from. Just started, no items, +10 armor from nowhere.
7. HP regen is fine (playing extreme and its all good) but MP regen is a bit too much. I can cast as much as I want as often as I want and not really lose mana. I think MP regen should be reduced slightly and tested further. UPDATE: HP regen is a bit high, after about level 7 it never dropped below 90% till the elite boss. The minibosses and creeps are a too easy. Possibly buff the minibosses slightly in damage. Just slightly. The game is hard before about level 7, but at higher levels your regen is very, very high and it gets almost boring.
9. I didn't complete the elder golem quest, but I killed the main boss first. Straight after it told me I had failed to complete the elder golem quest! There should be a message telling the player that he needs to do that quest first or he will fail it IMO.
10. text for ormester quest is white at the end. The colour needs to be set again after it says MIGHTY.
2. MAJOR: HEADBUTT: each level only increases damage by 10, that's why it's so weak. easy fix?
1. digsite on the east side of the bridge, just to the north of where the bridge starts, along the coastline between the river and the mountains.
Text says found lesser magic ball, but you get a magic orb piece instead
2. honour icon at top of screen shows 0 points, but honour points on multiboard says 1. I think it happened when I bought the battlemages gloves as Fradz, because for some reason they cost an honour point too(so annoying...). Also, I had about 7 honour points at the end of Ch 1, but they all vanished and I had only 1 in start of Ch 2!
10. Lightning shield spell doesn't appear in the spellbook
1. Ghost shop and Combat King master have a "build" ability. Broken.

Like mentioned above, my phodom gets +10 armor out of nowhere.
I've got some honor points from my give up, but they disapeared in chapter 1(but they DID appear in the prologue. The same happened to my lives, but i'm playing in ****, so maybe that is the why(it's just that even playing **** in previous versions, the lifes were still there, useless though).

Now just a question since i'm already here. Some skills aren't choosable anymore. Have you taken them out? Why?

Yeah, bugs.
1. If you keep clicking on Shindi in chapter 7, she'll keep giving you Lucky Clovers... And that kinda ruins the point of Lucky Horseshoes in the Auction Hall. Besides that, she also has 2 floating texts, while at the same time, Pete has none. And one of Shindi's texts is clearly meant to be for Pete...
2. Avenir, Drew and the Unknow Man (amusingly spelt without an N) have no classification.
3. The opening cinematic of chapter 1 is not skippable.
4. Lives and Honor Points are not carried over with Give Up.
5. The shop tooltips for the books need to be fixed; they still display: 'Staff of Sanctuary', 'Potion of Omniscience', etc...
6. The text in the shop for Zocmo's Gloves in chapter 1 displays '===Chapter 1, XXX==='.
7. Orb of Magic is still not fixed.

The honor points didn't carry over even from chapter to chapter, but I think this was supposed to be fixed?

Anyhow, avatar was scrapped because +str was too imba (last version, each point gave +30 HP and quite a significant amount of regen). And one of Galeoths ultis bugged, in that you (sometimes) wouldn't be able to control Galeoth after using it, leading to untimely deaths at the hands of bosses and such.

Those are the two I noticed missing.

First I'm new to this forum and play TCO 1.7 at normal for a few days now to the End of chapter 6 and restarted because I've skipped or missed some puzzles/bosses. This game really got me, everyday for a few hours i just want to play and explore further.

But now with patch 1.8 just started I've noticed a bug which is not yet listed here:
Phodom's Avenger Pack > Powerhammer should increase 1 damage per 2 charges but it does not increase at all, i took the Item off/on, killed some more monsters but it does nothing.

Hamza: I've noticed some other missing skills, but whatever, i'm pretty happy with the ones i've chosen.
About the honor...EH? Honor points(Now just Honor) should carry over from give ups too. So carry over from past chapters is more than essential...Obviously, Aero have made some changes(i liked them) about honor and etc, so if that's another change then it's explained...in a way.

Edit: This is what i get for wanting to test new spells. Since one of my choice of skills for fradz disappeared i went for lighting elemental and guess what, it indeed DISAPPEARED, i've chosen it, but it isn't there, there isn't ANY skill there, in other words, my Fradz got just 4 skills...again  :P.
Edit2: Berserk and Siphon life aren't working(not sure about siphon life though)
Edit3: Again i'm not really sure, but it looks like the new lighting storm isn't working properly, it was said in the description that the enemies would be dragged and spin around Fradz, or smth.

lol shin, if I recall correctly, come chapter 5 Fradz will suddenly remember lightning elemental (so your skills will be complete), and also promptly forget all skill points used (so you'll be level 20 with 0 skills levelled and zero skill points to use).

This will be a challenging **** run for you :)

I should make a quick list of super-serious bugs I think.

Regarding power hammer, atm it does add damage but in a strange way. Firstly equipping or dropping it doesn't affect damage added effect, at least not immediately. Secondly not every kill will contribute to your +dmg. So the current charges don't exactly equal twice your +dmg. I suspect those kills when blazing fury was active don't add, but could be wrong..

Was playing the first chapt when I saw two major bugs:

1. When I was reading the books, some of the words were hidden by the stats stuff at the bottom of the screen so I couldnt read thoroughly. Furthermore, I cannot find any escape button once I have read the books

2. VERY SERIOUS! I was walking past the Epic Boss area when all of a sudden, there was a cinematic and I was not given a choice to back off from the fight. I couldnt even save beforehand so I entered the epic boss fight arena unprepared and unwillingly. Please do fix this!

Do you mean the Archmage Boss fight? ( that's the epic one in Chapter 1 )
When I played Chapter 1 and walked to the Maraudur Clan entrance the NPC there just talks as usual and after that I could select to tell me stories / challenge Archmage or leave.
So I don't see a bug with that one  ???

Aero is the one to blame. His trying to improvise my skills wrongly results in these bugs because, as you guys clearly knew, my abities never bug in test maps.

Yeah and well I restarted the campaign and still faced the same problem. Things were ok until I clicked on any option, be it the story of the clan or "I need to go now". It will straightaway lead me to "Phodom says "I will fight." and then the epic boss fight starts even if I dont want to. And the animations before the fight were so buggy, I could successfully steal the boss item, my elemental can damage it via its burn aura and I was deemed cheating and kicked out of the game when the fight got started. This is very screwed.

Another problem I found was with the starting pack. I chose the hammer thingy that gave 1 dmg per 2 kills. However, the addition of dmg was inconsistent - sometimes it adds sometimes not. Not only that, when I had 20 charges and levelled up at the same time, the dmg count resetted itself while I still had 20 charges. I feel cheated as my item cannot achieve its maximum potential. :(

Fortunately, almost all bugs (and even more) are already posted. I'd like to add only:
1. Archmage's (epic boss1) spell that summons multiple flamestrikes doesn't work, he just channels for no effect.
2.  Obelisk puzzle in Ch2 that gives access to elite boss crashes the game when I touch the last obelisk.
3. Very important thing, just to make sure it's seen: elite boss 4, the tree, spawns just one treant and channels infinitely afterwards, so, no elite boss, no epic boss to fight.
4. Fradz doesn't have abilities learned at Ch5.
5. I've got no money when tried to load Ch6 and play it through.
6. Books often have wrong tooltips. E.g. "dragon slayers: purpose" tells about lesser ranks, races - it tells of centaurs instead of trolls etc. And text is often placed too low, half-closed by the game panel.

You could just edit your first post, but whatever...
1. Hum...are you saying that the spell doesn't appear, yet the archmage is still casting it(in that barrier)?
If that's the case, i should say that it's a VERY old bug or it isn't a bug(i went for the second option, just accepted it), maybe it's just low mana or smth.

Well, I've found some more at Ch7.
1) Alfred has 2 banned items: Emerald javelin and shield of nature.
2) When I fought Groxts at his 2-nd phase, he turned into fireballs, I dodged them, they all swarmed at 2 big fireballs, but didn't reappear as Groxts. I stepped by Fradz into one of that huge balls, it exploded, boss appeared, but I've lost all my lives (I had 7!), and a text appeared several times "vitality 0\0". When after a while, he did that move again, fireballs worked normally.
3) When I killed him and skipped the cinematic, a small window, where boss hp, mana nd name are usually showed, appeared in all cinematics since then - Groxts, hp -0, mana -0.

Here some bug, i dl the version 11/08.
Mission 1 :
- If skip the first cinematik and go kill a monster (before the difficulty is load) the game crash.
- Holy Cross don't work.
- Phodom have +10armor
- Dialog for epic fight is bug. When choose to leave the battle start. If not skip the cinematik, i can attack the boss before the fight.
- After choose to don't kill the boss, of the area, and if i try to enter one more time and say "leave" the fight restart, but the boss stay invulnerable
- A Gliph of ability when dig who give nothing

Mission 2
- Fratz don't have all the spell pick. Missing the summon elemental.
- When near the river they say " You found a lesser magic ball" and i ve a Magic Orb.
- The description of the spell "Energy Ball" didn't say when is better (No "Effect increased by abylity or agility....")
- spell "thunder" don't do damage when the hero isn't near the target
- spell "lighting orb"i think his heal spell must be automatic by default. Doesn't detonate when time expire.
- item "Power Orb" must steal 1k hp 30sec CD.  The item steal only 500hp

The english isn't the problem, most bugs you've posted are already known :P.

I'm having a problem at chapter 2 elite boss, when i use teleport strike, it looks like fradz likes to keep hiting the near lighting balls/orbs, most of the attacks are spent on them, and fradz is vunerable in this skill, so i'm pretty much dying or spending useless time and mana with this skill. With another words, the skills is worse than useless on this boss...
By the way, this elite boss is F*CKING hard now, i'm not doing any damage at all. But i'm not complaining, i'll go for the challenge ;).

Edit: Oh yeah, the above is true, but the principal reason of the weird behavior of teleport strike is this:
The skill teleport strike is a skill based on the damage, in another words, the hits of the skill are not that different from normal attacks(you can critical hit, use siphon life, etc), in another words, it's perfect for my fradz. BUT this elite boss that i refuse to remember the name(Noc'toriah ::)) have interesting debuffs that disable attack or skills for some time, almost completing each others(with a little gap between the debuffs). If the skills are disabled then teleport strike is unusable, BUT if the attack is disabled even if the skills can be used, it's useless, cause fradz has NO attack.
I was thinking it was weird that fradz kept hiting the lighting orb with the skill and it was not dying at all. Well, that's the reason(probably), if i'm wrong i would like to someone to explain me what happened so...

I don't know if Aero has modified (more like screwed up) anything, but the original Teleport Strike indeed works as an improved form of attacking so if your basic attacks are disabled it is bye-bye.

Almost all bugs mentioned are known.

Power orb steals 1000, minus spell resistance of the target afaik.

I've complained to Aero about Noctariah (unfortunately Aero doesn't have time to test his bosses so a few of them are.. childishly ridiculous), but he has made some changes I believe? Not sure :(

Anyway, you wouldn't believe the previous Noctariah... holy moly just as bad as this one except he had a nuke that did 1200 bloody damage and had no warning at all (undodgeable), and his mana burn burnt 300 mana (all of Fradz's mana pool at this point of the game). Thankfully I convinced him to nerf that to 800 dmg and mana burn of 150.

I beat Noctariah on extreme, but only because I had built Fradz as a full-on caster with discharge doing 2k dmg or something a hit. The  trick is to hit EVERY one of his healing energy orbs at ALL costs, with physical attacks when silenced, and with spells (yes feel free to waste your spells on the energy orbs) when you can't attack.

I simply don't see how anyone can beat this boss using a Fradz built for physical DPS, as the time you get to do physical damage to him is miniscule, and you can't stop every energy orb from getting to him and healing (because they come even during special events where you are running like a madman to survive).

Other bosses are similarly ridiculous, I asked Aero whether he prefers a boss that takes  45 minutes of pure grind that is extremely unforgiving; to one that is fast, fun, strategic, and takes a lot less time. At the moment it seems TCO is full of the former :/

So make suggestions as to boss balance!

Here's mine for Noctariah:
 - reduce the duration of silence/attack prevention disable spells by about half

And/or reduce the frequency of special events.

And for epic boss Ch 2:
- reduce the frequency of special events (because atm he does them continuously without pause at all, giving about 3 seconds per minute of time in which to physically attack him. Only way I managed it was because my Fradz was a pure caster)

And do something about this boss being very unforgiving maybe? (caught at any point in any of his spec events = immediate death from 3k HP)

In the next version if you touch an orb you'll get healed. So no need to kill the orbs at all.

About epic boss: greater intervals + I think I fixed a bug that made the boss "stack" events.

Oh yeah, the above is true, but the principal reason of the weird behavior of teleport strike is this:
The skill teleport strike is a skill based on the damage, in another words, the hits of the skill are not that different from normal attacks(you can critical hit, use siphon life, etc), in another words, it's perfect for my fradz. BUT this elite boss that i refuse to remember the name(Noc'toriah ::)) have interesting debuffs that disable attack or skills for some time, almost completing each others(with a little gap between the debuffs). If the skills are disabled then teleport strike is unusable, BUT if the attack is disabled even if the skills can be used, it's useless, cause fradz has NO attack.
I was thinking it was weird that fradz kept hiting the lighting orb with the skill and it was not dying at all. Well, that's the reason(probably), if i'm wrong i would like to someone to explain me what happened so...

Yep, the new Teleport Strike is based on Basic Attacks which means if you're silenced, the ability doesn't work. All I have to say is... Deal with it.

I can agree with that, but for the sake of a mental exercise, an easy fix would be to make the hero invulnerable when he uses the attack. Or you could remove all negative buffs off him like Magical Diadem does, just before the Teleport Strike attack starts

That's really mean, Aero! Of course, it isn't something that will make me give up playing the campaign :P, but it's annoying...

About Noc'tariah(?) . . . Hey, i have defeated him :P, it's hard, but i just had to run for my life a little, die like 10 times, use some pots(but i haven't used that much of them, it was more like one spell = K.O. almost so...). But i agree that it was a challenge that took me some good time and tears. By the way i'm in a second give up playthrough, so this pretty much tell us how OP the boss was.

About I'm!Ha!The most!Ha!...a.k.a Chapter 2 epic boss:
Hum...i can't say i didn't like the doppelganger thing, but it's pretty OP like you've said(the Fradz form). It's really difficult to see through his movements, he uses to much special skills AND, being hit by one is even more dreadful than any of the elite boss ones.
