Why is it "This week i released 1.7a and 1.7a"?
Besides that i liked the idea, but just a suggestion, NEVER make a release date again, unless you're certain about it. Don't get me wrong, it's better for you, it's better for us.

Hello,

well I would have a humble request:
I found it to be quite annoying to catch the five wisps of the troll shaman in chapter 8 (epic quest). I think they should stay like 0,5 seconds longer. When you fail like 10 times you have to scout the map all over again for him to repeat this procedure, which is really, really boring.
Another issue is the vitality which seems to drop more quickly than before (Is that so?). My vitality seemd to be constantly on low edge, although I always ate food till maximum. So I would opt to decrease the speed of drop-down a bit.
Title: Re: Weekly Update
Post by: Aeroblyctos on April 13, 2012, 03:57:05 am
Are you sure about making it easier? Itwas easy for me to catch the wisps.

I need more than one opinion about making the wisps slower. Maybe you could create a topic with a poll asking what others think. Then we can see what people think about this.

About vitality, before it took 900 seconds to go zero. Now it takes 1,000 seconds. However, in chapter 8 Gaomdo fight the vitality drops faster than normally. So, it is actually going slower than before.

Aero has officially reached godhood. His forum rank is now Xyrzious. Ta-da!

When will you implement my spells? I'm getting tired of waiting. Importing those spells can't take more than 30 minutes. Come on bro!
Title: Re: Weekly Update
Post by: Aeroblyctos on April 17, 2012, 06:36:56 am
I've been making last four days items and still doing. The spells would take a lot time too to create. I won't just do few of your spells, when I decide to do spells I will do at least six for each category.

I'll first do this minor version with items and fixes. Then I'll think which I'll do next: more spells, chapter 9 or chapter 3.

Okay then. How about the dummy thing? Have you tried my methods to reduce the number of dummy units to minimum?

Nope, but I just found out day before yesterday how to reduce the loading time by 75%.

Yep, yep.

And today I started planning and doing chapter 9. First picture is the basic plan how chapter 9 is build and second picture shows the place where you'll see Axobada.

Completely disagree with doing new chapter. The combat king bug still persist and many have problems playing due to that bug. You should finish fixing all the bugs first.

I appreciate you doing chapter 9, Aero, but I have to admit that Doomlord has a point there. The item system currently is quite a mess and the combat king bug is really, really annoying.
Title: Re: Weekly Update
Post by: Aeroblyctos on April 23, 2012, 10:58:46 am
Well, it's relaxing to do something else than fixing bugs. I've been last 2 weeks doing that so I'll have few days pause from that doing something else.

I'll start fixing bugs again in a day or two.

Give him a break FE. People don't deserve your wrath (other than me, Black, Shino and Aero). The right to express one's point freely is valid here in the forum as well.

...Okay, why me? I'm a good person and i joined the forum recently(some months ago), so why i deserve After's curse? And again i haven't understood After's post...(the finality and the...words, man i can't understand him)

Aero: So you're just starting chapter 9, right? I thought you would start with the remake of chapter 3 or maybe the interludes...well whatever, do what you think it's more important  ;).
Title: Re: Weekly Update
Post by: Aeroblyctos on April 24, 2012, 01:41:27 am
When I was on that trip I thought about things and I made my decision.

If I actually would remake chapter 3, the story itself wouldn't improve much. The point of chapter 3 is that Galeoth finally finds a dragon still alive and planning something terrible. In other words if I would remade chapter 3, it would just be "fillers".

Same story goes on remaking chapter 1 and 2. It would be fillers and overall improvements to the chapters by making the quests more interesting.

I want to go forward with the story, I really can't do remakes after remakes. I must go on with my own personal life too, right now it's been the same last two years, the campaign has taken all my life. It would be a different thing if I was paid by doing this campaign.

It is painful to see all my other friends doing great in real life while I still do this same old campaign. Every time they ask from me is game finished I must say "no" and then they laugh at me.

So I've decided to go on with the story and do next chapter 9. Sorry to disappoint you, but this is the way I've chosen. I'll of course do some minor versions to fix bugs. If I still have motivation after finishing the campaign(chapter 9, 10 and epilogue) then I can think about improving earlier chapters. I don't know about interludes yet.

Sorry to hear that. It is your own decision and I respect that. Maybe I can replace you for a while. After all I am also a coder.

Well, it is really an epic project. But it will also be quite an achievement when you finally succed in completing the last 2 chapters. The end of this project is already visible, Aero, and then this will really stand as a monument in the WC3 scene.
Even if you would not finish it, your work would stand beyond all the regular custom campaign available. Really well done, Aero!

Of course it is, but just how frustrating is it when these mass-produce people come here and express their opinions on 1 to 3 subjects, usually with the same answer.

"It's cool you think like that, but we pretty much guessed it off of you anyways, so thank you, but will you please get out now?!"

As I am working full-time, I can't contribute that much to the forum and I didn't have the slightest idea that some people would measure the quality of forum members with the number of posts they submit. I really suggest that you indulge yourself with a cup of tea and try to calm down.

You know, as I am not really interested in getting more of your rather boring and uninspired responses, I will simply back down from this. As you seem to be fanatically following your own private elitist schematics in "making a difference" I am confident that you will succeed and then stop your outpouring someday when you're satisfied with your achievements. Either way, it makes no difference to me, as I have better things to do than engaging discussions with somebody of your format.
Oh, and please do yourself a favor and don't reply on this.

Fox-E: Uh...yeah, i know you weren't talking about me(not this time).
Aero: Your post almost made me cry  :'(, but like i said it is what YOU want to do, we are just making suggestions(besides every kind of progress about the campaign are good news).
Title: Re: Weekly Update
Post by: Aeroblyctos on April 24, 2012, 01:12:17 pm
Thanks guys for the support.

I haven't said that I won't do that and that I've just changed the priority and order.

Here are few more pictures about coming chapter 9. The basic structure is almost completed.

It's a looks a maze but it isn't(at least in the beginning): you'll play with each character at a time until the boss. In the boss fights you'll start with Phodom and then more characters will come middle of the fight. Each character will have own personal optional quest and death knight battle. After the boss, you're free to travel with all three characters wherever you want.

I'm focusing on variety and the chapter  includes a defend quest, an escort quest, a puzzle many solo and team fights.

The chapter also reveals many things such as Fradz's secret, Phodom's father, Dragon Circle, Life Link, Monsters and you'll even see "a tragic love story". So many ups and downs. Also you'll battle against Xirenza, Yurgimar and Axoabada. The chapter is full of twists as I've promised in the past. The nearer we go to the end, more is revealed. Things won't go as you've probably thought. Actually it definitely won't go as you predicted.

Most likely, this will be the most interesting chapter of all chapters. Only bad side is that it isn't a shiny chapter like 5.  :o

Hello,

I have a question on the further procedure of combat kings. As they have to be removed after loading a saved game in chapter 8 and then are gone for good, people might not want to further invest in these abilities.
So I wanted to ask you what are your future plans with them?
Title: Re: Weekly Update
Post by: Aeroblyctos on May 25, 2012, 09:27:52 am
I'll create another minor version to fix bugs in chapter 8 in few days. Now is the time to give much feedback as possible about chapter 8.
Title: Re: Weekly Update
Post by: Aeroblyctos on May 26, 2012, 05:58:50 pm
Actually I changed my mind: I'll create improvements to all around the campaign and especially focusing on some bosses. This will take of course some more time but I think it's necessary.
Title: Re: Weekly Update
Post by: Aeroblyctos on May 29, 2012, 07:49:02 am
So here is what I'm doing right now and what the next version will have:

Title: Re: Weekly Update
Post by: Shinokyofu on May 29, 2012, 11:14:25 am
When you say "improvement", do you mean the difficult or the boss itself(more skills, more movements, etc) or both?
Title: Re: Weekly Update
Post by: Aeroblyctos on May 29, 2012, 11:31:35 am
Both, more moves and that way more challenging.

And I just heard it will take two weeks before the optimizator is fixed and then we'll faster loading times.

So the newest version is all about making the campaign speed faster. In a week or two I'll release a major versions with a lot of improvements. Here's current change log list:

Beta 1.7 to Beta 1.8

Well it certainly looks nice!

I for one don't know how a chapter of only bossfights will work out, I mean if there are no creeps then how can players level up and stuff? What about quests?
Title: Re: Weekly Update
Post by: Aeroblyctos on August 29, 2012, 01:42:02 pm
There will definitely be creeps.

And yes there are quests too. In this chapter you first play with Phodom, then Fradz, then Galeoth and finally with all characters together.

Also today I joined to a competition (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/map-development-202/mini-mapping-contests-drums-dungeon-221802/) and I'm going to create for the competition chapter 9 Epic Boss. I'll later move the fight to the chapter itself. I believe within a week or two I'm done with the boss. I'll be also creating the chapter 9 at the same time.

The boss has four phases.

This is why making the next version is taking so long: I've been working on at the same time chapter 9 and 10. These two chapters are very much alike and I like to do it this way. The next version will only bring chapter 9, but chapter 10 will be released shortly after 9.

I don't know about interludes and epilogue yet.
