Competition Idea
In this competition you're challenged to create a whole boss fight from nothing. The idea will be used in later chapers in a way or another.
Hints
Find a good model for it from here (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models.php).
Find some cool effects from here (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models.php?d=list&r=20&t=8).
Or you can make a battle of a death knight. Look the picture above of the possibilities.
Name your boss.
Tell in what chapter your boss could be.
Basic Blizzard made models and effects are fine too.
I usually give these type of things to bosses: Spells(usually basic Blizzard made abilities), Mini-Events(special events, has short cooldown), Events(special events, has long cooldown), Passive(Boss doesn't need to do anything).
Look the example, it will help you.

Competition Rules
The idea have to be yours.
You can make unlimited amount of entries.
I will have all the rights to edit the rules all the time(I will do it correctly and I will be fair for everyone).
Competition Prizes
The winner of this competition will have his or her name to Hall Of Fame and will be credited as "Competition Winners" and "Idea Giver". If you have one more than once you'll be credited automatically as "Great Idea Giver". Also any other ideas that I'll use will be credited as "Idea Giver".
Judging
I'm the only one who will judge the winner of the competition. I will judge all entries. The amount of entries you post will not decrease your chance to win in any way. However, if there are a lot of entries or horrible entries, I'll have the right to kick some of them away in order to make the final judge easier for me.
This is the order how I judge:
Is your idea creative and fresh?
Can I possibly create your idea?
Overall idea and theme?
The presentation?
Deadline
The competition begins immediately and conclude at earliest 8.1.2012 or when I judge the competition.

The main thing is that the players are getting dragged into that hole.
Aetherworld
Cinematic:The characters are somehow teleported to a strange place , just like a field(nighttime) with flowers all around it but no trees. Notice: Unlike most bosses, this boss is invulnerable to all damage, so the object is to avoid the attacks for 3 to 5 minutes in order to achieve victory.
Also it would be nice if you can tell in which chapter your boss would be.

Well, I asked in the chat what kind of competition you wanted. I got the idea you want to make totally own boss fight from the beginning, not just a spell or two for a boss.
Or you can make a battle of a death knight. Look the picture above of the possibilities.
This is such a discrimination! It clearly gives off a sign that death knight boss fights have a greater chance of winning, otherwise it wouldn't be there (boss fight from nothing, krhm).
Just the best overall idea will win! I just wanted to help those who don't have an idea where to even begin.

REVENGE OF DOOM LORD - MINI GAME/BOSS ARENA Disclaimer: Texts in <....> represent actions. Requirement: Completed Portal quest in chapter 5 and acquired Doom Sword. Location: The room in the middle of the competition picture (Same as DD's). Description: The mini-game has 5 stages:
ENTRANCE: Cinematic: (some soothing music required) P: This room seems so strange, the scent ... it is so familiar. Like my wife's. F: I can't smell anything. P: You don't even know her. How could you ... <A 30% transparent Birgitta appears near Phodom> P: Birgitta ... F: What the heck ? - Stop Phodom, it's a trap ! P: You're a fool to say that, Fradz. Birgitta, I'm home again. I'll never let you go out of my reach. We'll rebuild our family. <Phodom walks near the illusion> F: STOP! - Damnit Phodom, you geezer! ? ? ? : Now you'll pay dearly for what you have done to me back in Dragon Inn. <A black Doom Lord appears near Phodom, replacing the Birgitta illusion. He swings his sword and Phodom fell to the ground (unconscious - not dead yet)> Doom Lord: Finally, such an easy prey - Now I'll reclaim my weapon. <If P has Doom Sword -> Cinematic continues -> If F has Doom Sword, Doom Lord teleports near Fradz. He swings his sword and Fradz fell to the ground -> Doom Sword is removed from inventory> Doom Lord: This warrior is perfect for my upcoming ritual - with his vengeance and power, I'll be invincible. <Doom Lord teleports away, taking Phodom with him> Interlude: After 15 minutes... F: Ugh, my head. What happened ? ? ? ? : Phodom has been abducted. Make haste before all is too late. F: It doesn't look like I have another option. <Fradz moves forward>
BATTLE #1 - FIRST GATE
Cinematic: F: Show yourself. I'm here to take Phodom back. <Doom Lord appears near Fradz, trying to backstab him but Fradz evades the blow successfully> Doom Lord: You're quick. Let's see how quick you can be. Forward my minions, destroy this insect for me. <Doom Lord summons few smaller Doom Guards then teleports away> F: Bring it on.
Battle: 2 portals appear on each side of the corridor. Doom Guards will spawn from the portals. Kill 10 Doom Guards to open the gate to the next battle or kill 25 Doom Guards to complete the Battle. If the Battle is completed successfully the player is given a "Destiny's Sword fragment".
BATTLE #2 - SECOND GATE
Cinematic: F: Give Phodom back ! <Doom Lord appears near Fradz, trying to backstab him but Fradz again evades the blow successfully> Doom Lord: You're lucky indeed. But your little friend here won't be as lucky as you. As soon as the ritual is completed, his body is MINE ! <Doom Lord calls down multiple Infernals then teleports away> F: I have to save that fatass - And quick. <A 20 minute timer starts counting down>
Battle: An invulnerable Portal appears at the end of the corridor. Infernals will spawn from the Portal. For each 10 Infernals killed, a Hellfire Infernal will be spawned. Each Hellfire Infernal killed will reduce the Portal's HP by 35%. Kill a Hellfire Infernal to open the gate to the next battle or destroy the Portal to complete the Battle. If the Battle is completed successfully the player is given a "Destiny's Sword fragment".
BATTLE #3 - THIRD GATE
Cinematic: F: Come and fight me, you coward. Stop being such a sissy monster. <Doom Lord appears near Fradz> Doom Lord: Very well then. See if you can hold on to your words. F: One shall stand, one shall fall.
Battle: The objective in this battle is to reduce Doom Lord's HP to 75%. Doom Lord in this stage has War Stomp (stunning for 3 seconds) and Cripple (reducing AS and MS by 45%). The player can steal a "Destiny's Sword fragment" from Doom Lord during this battle.
Cinematic: Doom Lord: You're much stronger than I thought. But no matter, the ritual is near complete. My ascension is near ! <Doom Lord teleports away> F: I will hunt you down no matter what. Do you hear me !!!
BATTLE #4 - FOURTH GATE
Cinematic: F: Will this ever end ? ? ? ? : Phodom's life is at stake. You mustn't let him down. F: I won't. <Doom Lord appears near Fradz> Doom Lord: Looks like you are about to. F: You coward. Just end this right here right now. Doom Lord: As you wish. Your quest shall end here.
Battle: The objective in this battle is to reduce Doom Lord's HP to 50% (his starting HP is still 100%). Doom Lord in this stage has War Stomp (stunning for 3 seconds), Cripple (reducing AS and MS by 45%) and Summoning Doom Guards. The player can (again) steal a "Destiny's Sword fragment" from Doom Lord during this battle.
Cinematic: Doom Lord: You're powerful but you've run out of time, hero. I won. <Doom Lord teleports away> <Timer stops counting> F: Damnit. Can't be !
BATTLE #5 - FIFTH GATE
Cinematic: F: No, it can't be. <Doom Lord appears near Fradz> Doom Lord: His body is mine now ! <Doom Lord summons Phodom and attempts to finish the ritual> ? ? ? : Don't even dream about it. <A bolt of lightning strikes down, knocking back Doom Lord and waking Phodom> P: What ? ... Where am I ?... It feels like a dream of blackness. Doom Lord: My power. My destiny. NOOOOOO! Doom Lord: Both of you shall die here. You shall all become sacrifices for my ritual !
Battle: The objective in this battle is to slay Doom Lord. Doom Lord in this stage has War Stomp (stunning for 3 seconds), Cripple (reducing AS and MS by 45%), Summoning Doom Guards and Summoning Infernals. The player can (once again) steal a "Destiny's Sword fragment" from Doom Lord during this battle.
Cinematic: Doom Lord: My ... destiny. Don't stop ... me ... from ... my destiny ... I ... failed you ... master ! <Doom Lord falls down> F: He is slain. How did he get resurrected anyways ? P: Maybe we will never know.
REWARD Doom Lord drops Destiny's Sword and Doom Sword (taken earlier). The Destiny's Sword can be upgraded with fragments collected from previous battles. For example a player collects 3 fragments and Destiny's Sword can be upgraded up to Destiny's Sword III (the Romanian number represents the number of fragments and the power of the item).

Xavorn's words are...wait for it...not very effective. Aero's HP isn't reduced at all. Maybe you should try some stronger spells to destroy Aero's protection ability: Ignorance.

Okay, the judge is here. We have three entries. I believe Doomlord's entry doesn't meet the theme of the competition. I just see a lot of details but the boss fight itself is missing. That is what I'm seeking.
Now, here we go. We have a great battle betweern Blackdoom58 and Xavorn. Both have two entries, let's see who wins....
Blackdoom59's "The Death Knight"
+/- You made three phases, good thing. But none of the phases were unique, bad thing. +/- It's always nice to see someone trying to make a story for the boss too. However your story is half done. + I like the first phase's first event. + I like the attack speed bonus thing, it can lead to good and strategic boss fight. - The explosion event doesn't need any strategy or quick reflexes, it's only about luck which is a bad thing. - The models are a little bit too different from each other being the same enemy.
I think you tried a little bit too unique approach. You created three phases but none of them were unique. You should have focuses on one phase and making it great.

Xavorn's "Nevermore the Raven"
+ Presentation is easy to understand and well made. + By making the boss invulnerable the whole fight is a new trick. - I don't like that "Flying Charges" can be only avoided with luck, there should be something that shows player how to evade and when.
It's a new way to make the boss itself invulnerable. However you gave too little for the boss fight itself making the whole fight, I believe, too simple and boring. This type of boss fight should have needed a lot of minor enemies all the time. Now it's all about evading a simple charge spell that can only be avoided by luck.

Xavorn's "Shannon the Lunatic"
+ Presentation is easy to understand and well made + I liked the "Lunatic Explosion" event
Overall the boss just evades playing by teleporting short distances and doing one event called "Lunatic Explosion" which is an okay idea. The should have something more going on, but for a mini-boss this would be okay.

Blackdoom59's "The Undead Flamelord"
+ Presentation is easy to understand and well made + Excellent model choise + Using corpses is a new way + "Carrior swarm" is a great idea +/- "Fire nova" is not that unique, but it acceptable
The overall idea of the boss is nice. Using corpses is a new way to create a boss. I like what you've done. What I miss is that the boss doesn't have an efficent event.

Well, it's completely understandable that the variability is a big-buck factor that matters, and Black had more variability with his Frizen, so pretty well judged.
Even if they were to be added as mini-bosses, it'd be a cheer.
