Competition IdeaIn this competition you're challenged to create a high ranked Combat King. The Combat King will replace previous Berserk combat king. The theme for the combat king is phyical theme meaning it should somehow make the basic damage better. The combat king will have 5 levels and remember to make your entry strong in the beginning but also in the end.Hints- The combat kings have 5 levels.
- The combat kings are all passive ablities.
- Try to make your combat king unique. Making a combat that gives a stun for short time isn't unique.

Competition Rules
- The idea have to be yours.
- You can make unlimited amount of entries.
- I will have all the rights to edit the rules all the time(I will do it correctly and I will be fair for everyone).
Competition PrizesThe winner of this competition will have his or her name to Hall Of Fame and will be credited as "Competition Winners" and "Idea Giver". If you have one more than once you'll be credited automatically as "Great Idea Giver". Also any other ideas that I'll use will be credited as "Idea Giver".JudgingI'm the only one who will judge the winner of the competition. I will judge all entries. The amount of entries you post will not decrease your chance to win in any way. However, if there are a lot of entries or horrible entries, I'll have the right to kick some of them away in order to make the final judge easier for me.

Bloodthirsty
Description:
The character gets more and more bloodthirsty with every critical hit he deals to his enemy. This increases his critical chance even further, since he gets more and more used to it and wants to see more and more blood.
Effects:
- Every critical strike by the character gives the character one stack of the buff "Bloodthirsty"
- Every stack of the buff increases the crit-chance for auto-attacks from the character by 1/2/3/4/5%
- The buff can stack up to 5 times
- The buff vanishs after 30 seconds

Vengeful
Description:
The character wants to pay his enemy back for every hit the character receives. Therefor his chance for a critical hit increases with every hit he receives. After hitting his enemy the character calms down a bit, which lowers his critical strike-chance to the normal %-chance.
Effects:
- For every time the character receives dmg, the character gains one stack of the buff "Vengeful"
- Every stack of the buff increases the chances of a critical hit for auto-attacks from the character by 2/4/6/8/10%
- The buff can stack up to 5 times
- The buff vanishes after the character hits an enemy critically

Heaven's enhancement

Effect: The render's next attack will deal25%/50%/75%/100%/125% bonus damage on the following attack.

Cleaving attacker

Description: The render learns how he can attack multiple enemies at once.His attacks are dealing dmg in 250 range near the first attack.

Other requirements:The render must be a meele user.

Rampage: Every successful hit has 4/8/12/16/20% chance to increase att speed by 5%. Last 10s and stacks indefinitely.
(This skill is undoubtedly designed for Fradz. That is my favorite char anyway :P )

Holy enhancement: Attack has a chance to cast spell "Holy purification" on the attacked enemy, which deal magic % x (500+ magic bonus)/3 and slow the enemy by 25% for 2 secs (not stackable) . The chance is 2/4/6/8/10% depends on slv
(This one can be used for all char, as depends on build it can deal massive damage: with decent gears in magic damage and magic %, it can become 2500 damage every 10 att means 250 magic damage per attack; or can proc very often and become a source of constant slow)
Holy enhancement(ver.2): the same with above, but cast "Holy light" that blinds enemy, make it miss on 20% of the attacks instead of slow (damage is the same)
(for there has been too many slow)

Bloodseeker: The wound of the enemy make the attacker stronger. Every 100 hp target lose, the char increase his base damage by 1 damage. Cap damage is 50/100/150/200/250.

Imo near all of your suggestions are a bit too strong noal.
Rampage:
A buff that increases atk speed with a 20% chance that stacks infinetly?
Fradz would go crazy with this thing. With the right equipment he already has something around 150% attackspeed, with this he would go over 250% in no time and deals an incredible amount of damage.
That's too strong. You definitely need a limit of stacks and since this is "just" a combat king, it must not be a high one like +50% attackspeed.
Holy enhancement:
I think no passive ability should deal that much damage. Imo the whole calculation should be like this:
Damage = magic%*(slvx500+ magic bonus)/X
With X as a number > 4, I'd prefer 5 or 6.
Holy Light:
The same as Holy enhancement. And that high miss-chances are too high imo. I suggest 2/4/6/8/10% miss chance, depending on the combat king level.
Bloodseeker:
That one's mostly fine, but the maximum bonus damage is too high imo.
I'd suggest to lower them to 50/100/150/200/250 (Maximum!). I even prefer 20/40/60/80/100. Again, imagine them on Fradz who already has his incredible attackspeed and normally is made to be the damage dealer. Now imagine him with +1000dmg per hit. Maybe even with level 5 syphonlife, since he heals himself with this like a lil god.Bosses would be cut in half like butter while Fradz kills them all alone, his self-heal via combat-king syphonlife would be strong enough to handle the damage dealt by the boss ;D

Uhm, maybe I was too familiar with Fradz having all end-game equipments, that I underestimated the power of those spells. :P Sorry :P
The first one, sorry, I mistake my intention. It should be every attacks has a chance to increase att speed by 5%. The chance is 4/8/12/16/20%, last 10secs, stackable.
My intention is to have each attack him increase about 1% speed. With this, 100 attacks continuously can increase speed by 100%. Note that it's very hard for Fradz to att continuously 100 times, as strong bosses will do events/spells, and small bosses die before he attacks ~20 hits. The timer hinders the effect of this spell quite well. Also, the bonus go up from 1,2,3,4...%, means the effect is in fact halved. Well, I think it can make a total of 20% increase in att speed for Fradz. Is it too much?
The spell can be used better if you are good at micro and to make Fradz attacks constantly without being delayed.
The second and third spells:
Note that if you have that decent gear in spell % and spell damage, then you have no room for speed and physics damage items. This one, I think fit better with Galeoth- with about 3000 magic damage and 100% magic bonus% will result in 7000/ spell. 10%, means 700 damage magic per attack. Well, yeah it should be reduce- to 7000/3 or 7000/4. Galeoth attack speed is like turtle, though :P
If applied to Fradz, with my current gears the spell damage hardly reach 1000- means 100 damage per attack. I added slow/miss because of this reasons. Yeah, still the damage should be reduced.
The forth spells:
YES, LOWER THE DAMAGE!
I find it not good as well, since at 5 slv and chapter 6/7, the boss must have lose 40000 hp for char to gain 1000 damage, but at 1 slv and ch.1/2, the boss still must lose 40000 hp for char to gain 200 (wtf?)
It should be like this: Every 100 target's lost hp increases attack damage by 1. Maximum damage can be attained is 50/100/150/200/250.
Still, I find the last skills the most powerful one, among 4 skills, if applied for Fradz.
But it's just my skills anyway :P

Edge of Sharpening

Other requirements: An enemy close by the character.
Must be a melee user to trigger the effect.

Bandaging Holyness

Description: Upon being struck, the character has a chance to be blessed by the Gods of Light, dealing only half the damage during the next attacks, but also restoring his own health equal to the damage dealt.
Effect: Each time the character is attacked, there's a 2/4/6/8/10% chance to be blessed by the Gods. The next 5 attacks by the character deal only 50% of the normal damage, but also heals the character equal to the damage dealt.
Other requirements: Must be a melee user to trigger the effect.
The character must be below 50% health, or the chance is reduced to 1% (doesn't increase per level).

Numbing into Corruption

Description: As the enemies become afraid of the character's power, he may attempt to get a control over his enemies' minds for a short period of time.
Effect: While merely standing close enough to an enemy, the character has a chance to corrupt the enemy's mind with every second passing by. If succesful, the enemy fights under the character's command for 15 seconds.
When the enemy's health is between 50% to 75%, the chance is 1/2/3/4/5%.
When the health falls below 50% but is above 25%, the chance is 2/4/6/8/10%.
If weakened below 25% health, the chance for success is 3/6/9/12/15%.
Other requirements: Must stay within a 150 range of the enemy, or the corruption cannot be triggered.
Enemy's health has to be below 75% or there'll be a 0% chance for corrupting its mind.
Doesn't work on heroes or any kind of bosses.

A Sacrificial Medium

Effect: If the character's health is about to fall zero, there's a 5/10/15/20/25% chance to receive no damage and get healed for 20/40/60/80/100% of the character's maximum health during a 10-second period.
Other requirements: When triggered, has a 10-minute cooldown before it may happen again.

Meaning it doesn't need to increase the attack damage but make the basic attack stronger like giving more critical strike or other addittional damages.

Although yours is activated differently, you shouldn't copy someone else's entry idea.

First I'd like to tell you that I HONESTLY never wached your "edge of sharpening" and that ideea camed to my mind accidentely.+ it's activated differently , so ther's no copy-paste.

The way the CK activates has very little to say if comparing two CKs of same effect; If mine was activated upon attacking, and yours upon being struck, how would you reply? That "they're still so different nevertheless"?

I think every time someone tells Aero to hurry , Aero gets 30% more lazy.

Okay guys I have fixed the Berserk Combat King. It works well now and Aero plans to re-introduce it in version 1.7. Just want to let you guys know that.
I will judge this competition tomorrow. And for people who don't understand why I'm allowed to judge instead of Aero, check from this post (http://www.tcocampaign.com/index.php?topic=1052.msg6933#new) onwards.

Okay everybody this is the "experimental" judge speaking. Although Berserk Combat King has been fixed Aero said that he still welcomes new ideas from the members and due to some events I will judge this competition and Aero will decide whether I'm a good judge or not. So if he say that I'm not then this post will be deleted and he will judge this himself sometimes later. One more thing, TCO currently doesn't have any Critical Strike System so ideas involving critical strike will be marked as (Can't be made)
So we have 2 entries from Isofruit, 10 entries (duh) from Black, 4 entries from noal and 3 entries from Xavorn (previously known as DD Canada). We have a total of 19 entries, which forces me to only give the score of some entries and judge them briefly. Okay now on to the judging !
- Isofruit
- Bloodthirsty (Can't be made): This ability has a lot of potential in it. The idea seems nice and the presentation is good but the icon is a bit inapproriate. This ability is weak in the beginning but very strong in the end when characters have ultra-high attack speed and can crit continuously. Score: 3/5
- Vengeful (Can't be made): This ability has a lot of potential in it too. The presentation and icon are fine but the ability seems to only mirror the first ability. The idea of retaliating with a critical strike is good but I think you can utilise it in another way. Score: 2.5/5
- Blackdoom59
- Anger: This ability is good to say the least. The presentation is well-made and your icon is okay. However a buff stacking indefinitely is something that, if coupled with high attack speed, will be way too imba. I do acknowledge that the buff only last 5s according to your entry but with a high enough attack speed, a character can stack about 5-6 buffs before losing the first one. And this ability is also quite weak in the beginning when the attack speed is still too low. Score: 2.5/5
- Damage Seeking and Killing Spree: Damage Seeking is weak in the beginning when the attack speed is still too low but imba in the end. Killing Spree can be utilized to imba levels with Cleaving or AoE spells. Score: 2.5/5
- Chosen Strike and Blood Steal: For these 2 entries I'm thinking about combining them and make them as a single ability so there will be bonus points for you. Score: 3/5
- Ultimate Precision and Critical King (Can't be made): A bit too imba if the character's attack speed or HP is high enough. And Fradz can get higher HP than Phodom. Score: 2.5/5
- Heaven's Enhancement: This ability is great but it seems to drift off from the concept of physical Combat King. This is one of my favorite ideas in this competition. Score: 3/5
- Magic Weapon: This ability is simple, creative and effective. And I have already made something like this for Aero and he said that he will use this for a new passive for Galeoth. But there is no special or outstanding feature in this ability. Score: 4/5
- Cleaving Attacker: The Blizzard-made ability Cleaving Attack with a different name. Score: 1/5 (Actually I would have given this a 0/5 score)
- Noal
- Rampage: This ability is balanced only for later chapters and not early chapters since no character can benefit from this skill at first levels. One good thing is that I have already made a spell quite similiar to this one. But your presentation is only average so I will have to minus some of your mark. Score: 3.5/5
- Holy Enhancement(both version): This ability seems to repeat something already plenty in the campaign: Orb effect. Your spells are only Orb Effects with triggered damage and nothing special. Score: 2.5/5
- Bloodseeker: This ability is limited by the presentation and the information given along with it. I don't really like this idea much but I think it has some hidden potential. Score: 2/5
- Xavorn
- Edge of Sharpening: This ability is undoubtedly the finest ability posted in the competition. Your presentation and icon are perfect, your idea is very creative and balanced. But unfortunately I think neither Aero nor I can do this because the attack damage of a unit can't be handled in WE without some additional JASS libraries which haven't been incorporated into the campaign yet. I would have given this a perfect score if the ability can be made. Score: 4/5
- Bandaging Holyness: This ability is really good considering its simplicity and balance. It can also be made quite easily which is another great thing. However it doesn't seem to fit the physical CK theme of the competition.Score: 3.5/5
- Numbing Into Corruption: This ability is a good and creative idea. It is actually a skill that I have never seen anywhere before in any RPG. But it doesn't fit the physical CK theme of the competition and so it loses mark. Score: 3/5
Okay so we have 2 ideas that have the same score of 4/5. I will choose Magic Weapon because it can be made and incorporated into the campaign. So the winner is Blackdoom59. And I think Xavorn deserves a honorable title as a co-victor. Congratulations to both of you!

I tried to do own critical system and I even asked help but everyone told me it's better to use the basic Blizzard Critical Strike. That is why I can't detect when it hits and that's why many of the ideas cannot be made. Sad.
"Edge of Sharpening" this cannot be done I believe, but it's good idea anyway.
Anyway, I read all the entries and wrote down all the interesting ideas that will be eventually used for items and abilities.
I think you did a good job with judging I didn't start to compared how you did with each entry.
I think the judging is acceptable. What does others think?

I have seen noal's Rampage before. It is the Fervor ability in DotA. So the uniqueness is gone. The other 3.5/5 entry is Bandaging Holyness by you which doesn't really fit the physical CK theme so I can't choose it over Black's Magic Weapon.
Now I understand the excruciating pain of judging a single competition so I think I will be more than happy to hand the judging over to you. Just tell me if you want to.

But that's like saying "yeah, his idea might contain pitfalls, but they can be changed later, no big deal". Yet, they're still determined by points.
Of course the names can be changed later, but why intentionally lessen its importance?

I'd have applied for that at the same time as you, if I had wished to. But I didn't because I feel like competitions should be judged by those who originally put it up, so if I was to judge competitions, they should be created by me, not by Aero, you, or anyone else.
