Weekly Progress #6
« on: November 11, 2014, 03:15:03 am »
Hello there,

The previous week was a huge roller coaster between parties but now I have settled down to live a quiet life before my computer. Finally I'm once again "a free man" without a job or school so I got plenty of time for the campaign and for the book.

The next couple of weeks I will do one final push to finish the campaign once and for all. As you can see from this list there's not much to do anymore.

Last few days I got stuck - or addicted perhaps is better word - creating the final epic boss. This will be a big spectacle. Perhaps even bigger than Xvareon himself. Anyway, I'm still not sure in what order the last version(s) will be released. I could do all in one or versions after versions. Perhaps here I would like to have your opinion.

I'd prefer to have version after version made, it would be difficult if not impossible to catch every bug in a single release :) and I personally would love to be able to play the content once it's available!

Glad to hear you'll be able to get things up to full steam!

"in what order" I believe is common English meaning what things I should do first before other things. Well, in this case either couple of versions or just one or two big ones.

But yes, I start to focus now on other things than the Epic Boss. That way I can release the last chapter faster without it. However I will add it soon as possible or something. Is that good?

Yeah, I know what it means :P. However, since you didn't put any options of "what to do first" I thought you were talking about the "couple of version" or "just one or two big ones", and that's obviously not a "order". I think you should just do a big one, but it doesn't matter that much to me.

Oh, and if you think it'll take too long to make the Epic Boss, release two big versions, the first one without it. I don't think anyone would complain about that...

It gives me immense joy to see you back in track and moving on towards completion. I have stayed by your game through the good times and the rough, played for countless hours for over 4 years, memorised item synthesis, digsites, dialouges, lore..this has been one helluva ride. When my new age gamer friends obsessed with the gitz and glam of modern day RPGs mock me regarding why i still play an old and forgotten game like WC3, i show them this campaign. The gameplay has been absolutely fantastic, and playing through each difficulty was a dynamically different experience. I still feel your story could be a lot better and this game can have a lot more potential, a lot more intense gripping and less naive, and this being a story driven campaign is what attracted me to it in the first place. However i also enjoy the snide humor and sharp puns you put in the campaign here and there. All in all, witnessing the end of the campaign will be a momentous day for me, i was really sad when the last time i came here and saw you were abandoning this project. But i will really miss having new chapters to play when this is over, sometimes i have waited a whole year to get a bug free new chapter to play through. A big thank you to you Aero, you have kept my favorite game from childhood alive, long after all my friends have left it in the dust.
Welcome to my nightmare!

Just like you've used countless hours to play the game I've used too to create it.

I have also pretty much stick to old games. I like to play games like supreme commander 1, civilization, sins of solar empire, age of empires 2 and so on games with friends. I got a little bit more luck as my friends too play these games.

But anyway, thanks for your warm words. I really appreciate this comment you made!
