I don't understand why you people use area attack, seryously. I mean, Avatar is a lot more usefull for tanking and surviving early and late chapters + area attack have other means to be obtained, no ?

Surviving is easy at late chapters. This is my perception 
With fradz's bless of lightning, phodom's heaven's bless, galeoth's frost shield (+armor). Its pretty reliable.

And I dont find it hard to complete the chapter without Avatar in the early chapters 1, 4 and 5.
