http://gameful.org/groups/games-for-change/forum/topic/zynga-analysis/

I read this article i while back and it seems to me that the game industry condemns Zynga's money making practices and I would like to know what you think of the company?

Edit: I thought it also would be interesting to what people think of what Activision_Blizzard have done that irritates you and you would like to share.

Don't hate and play nice (if this is going to be an continuing thread then a little civilized talk is very much welcomed )

Thanks to alanthil for his question.

One word: Annoying.

Zynga is probably one of the most annoying game companies when we talk about advertisement, real money trades or smth like that.
I'd already played some Zynga games, they aren't bad games, but i gave up them since my schedule got more packed and because of the frustrations.

Zynga is [PROFANITY]in' internet scum anyways. Whoring on facebook apps making the SAME GAME OVER AND OVER again and then fricking making millions off of their shitty over-priced virtual currency. I swear if I get another [PROFANITY]in' farmville request I?m going to kill somebody.
Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa.

Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.

Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
Must die unheard in
Dim Carcosa.

Song of my soul, my voice is dead,
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in
Lost Carcosa.

Well, they have somehow made mundane, boring games addictive, sapping people out of their time. I'll say there are successful in that.

Well I don't hang around in Facebook a lot but a long time ago I've played Mafia wars and some poker but these games from Zynga tend to pay to play if you want activity for more than a few clicks.
A bit like some broweser games out there in the end you need to get a premium account or pay for extra time/turns/bonuses etc.

I've have another question, what do you think about Activison-Blizzard > Diablo III? For me this goes the same way, I've played D3 since release and after a month I quit, maybe it gets better with patches but it was destroyed already.
I knew some botters they made some thousand dollars, I should have done that too if i knew that the game would be so broken  :(

What I think Activision-Blizzard tried to do with Diablo 3 was with good intentions but poorly executed, having a real money auction house was a train wreck for them but it taught a valuable lesson about consumer mentality.....there game was built so that you either farmed for gold/gear or paid up to advance... as many would guess that does not go well with people who spent 60 dollars on an game they already bought and many (in my opinion) just felt cheated and of course there was that decision to make people ALWAYS be connected to the server that to was not an good idea but necessary with an real money auction house  :-\

The idea that the player was always connected to play and also to add the real-money auction house which was strapped to well... a single player game was not an good idea but could very well have worked on an mmo much better, only a fraction used the auction house but they pushed people to much to try it.
As some would say this was just an perfect storm, its ironic because there world of warcraft mmo had also achieved this perfect storm and because of it became the most popular mmo of its time.....I guess Blizzard is a fine example of all that rises must eventually fall.

So that's my opinion of Blizzard, but Activision is an whole another story and to the very well hive mind almost that they are evil is wrong...its just business.

You can't expect anyone to talk clean on such dirty buisness.Blizzard is turning greedier and greedier with each idiot(no offence) that buys their late crap.In the old days everything was clean , back in the days of diablo 2 , warcraft 3 and ****.

What is worse is their public reasons. That their methods are required to keep their **** alive.

Zynga are just disgusting.

They recently took over the highly successful Draw Something game (smartphones), and it has gone from awesome to complete trash - the ads are ri-bloody-diculous. Any time you want to view another plays move or start your own move or any significant action, it takes you to a full screen ad that can't be skipped for about 5 seconds. It was never like this before the idiots came along.

Hate them
