instead of ignoring ideas and coming back for them later, hear the players at the time they post their ideas.

One should not expect things to happen instantly. Nor should one expect someone to remember one thing when they have hundreds of other things to do.
Aero has put a lot of work and hours into making TCO what it is now. I'm sure he's had awesome ideas, that he just couldn't do at the point in time, and had forgotten about them. I know I have.
If you want your idea, or another person's idea to be developed, you could ask Aero's opinion on the idea; And if he likes it as is or likes it but wants to change a thing or two, you could try to remind him of the idea nicely.
An example of that would be something like what I did

After I came back to TCO and went through old posts. I came across his reply to my idea for the challenge, and asked him about it. And after a bit of chatting, I stated my reasoning for asking about it; Which was his statement of making it into a forth fire spell.
