Your awesome idea forgotten?
« on: April 23, 2013, 03:34:35 am »
Hey,

megmaconqueror just mentioned an old entry I had totally forgotten to add to the campaign. I decided to add the idea to the campaign and I'm just working on it.

Maybe you have similar story? Tell me about it!

instead of ignoring ideas and coming back for them later, hear the players at the time they post their ideas.

as long as they're reasonable of course
"Wohoo, we spent five hundred kay on the ground, isn't that great? I love wasting money."

"Wohoo, we spent five hundred kay on the ground, isn't that great? I love wasting money."

One should not expect things to happen instantly. Nor should one expect someone to remember one thing when they have hundreds of other things to do.

Aero has put a lot of work and hours into making TCO what it is now. I'm sure he's had awesome ideas, that he just couldn't do at the point in time, and had forgotten about them. I know I have.

If you want your idea, or another person's idea to be developed, you could ask Aero's opinion on the idea; And if he likes it as is or likes it but wants to change a thing or two, you could try to remind him of the idea nicely.

An example of that would be something like what I did*1.

After I came back to TCO and went through old posts. I came across his reply to my idea for the challenge, and asked him about it. And after a bit of chatting, I stated my reasoning for asking about it; Which was his statement of making it into a forth fire spell.

*1: I am not saying that I planned for this to happen, nor was I trying to pressure him into doing it.
Hey you... Yes you... get over here...

Or take another option: develop that idea by yourself. Yes not everybody can trigger but it is still one of the shortcuts to get your idea present in the campaign.

However, Aero doesn't always welcome all the level-two ideas thrown at him. This method only increases your idea's chance.

By the way megmaconqueror, here's your idea. What do you think? I made it more simple by removing the mana / ultimate strike idea. Now it is about same level as Lightning Orb and Ice Demon.

It sounds awesome. Something I would definitely use. I might have to rush a give up if this is coming out soon haha. :D

One question though.

Is the Final Light/Dark going to always happen even when canceled, or does it only happens when the 60 seconds have passed?

That's fine. It's a suggested idea for you. You can tweak, and change it how ever you like.

I was just curious.

Reason why I was curious, is because if it always happens, then I can see this being used as not only, a great supporting/damaging spell; But also a quick "oh ****" spell as well*1.

I am just picturing all the ways this can be used in a boss fight. >< it's pretty epic.

*1: It would be also like Fradz's Electro shell, which can be used when you are all of a sudden dying quickly.

Haha, does it "revive" Galeoth after the timed life/when canceled?

Aero has put a lot of work and hours into making TCO what it is now. I'm sure he's had awesome ideas, that he just couldn't do at the point in time, and had forgotten about them. I know I have.

a very simple thing he could do would be to write down the possible ideas that he has approved and then stick that note to his pc screen or something. it's not rocket science, but has he done that? doubt so, this thread is the proof.

he might care, but not enough after until a year plus from the first reminder

and i ain't a wc3 coder (and many others likewise aren't either), unless of course some basic website coding had any part in this.
