Shock Circle: Awesome spell, but i think in the Super version the speed of the orbs is far too low(the 2 seconds delay is okay).
Another thing in my mind is the name: well, surely the orbs make a "circle" around fradz, but the "nature" of the spell isn't the circle, it is the seeking orbs. The name isn't bad or smth, but the name suggests another kind of spell. Well, but the spell itself is great, no other complains.

About the Fiery Ball, i really liked it...but i'm trying to see your vision when you made it, i mean, why a bouncing fire ball that when hits phodom it heals him?
Well, you can say that i haven't "understood" the spell, but besides that, no problem.
You can actually ask Aero about all of that. They are mainly his ideas after all.

Anyway good news guys. It looks like Aero has finished importing some of the spells I posted. Here is a list of the imported spells:
  • Teleport Strike
  • Phoenix Combo (Aero modified something, I don't know exactly what are his modifications though. He said that it is a secret)
  • Thunder Blade (This isn't confirmed completely though. We are still argueing)
  • Lightning Storm
  • Blazing Fury
  • Fiery Ball
  • Electrostatic Shockwaves
  • Shock Circle (Aero said he merged it with his own version somehow. Basically it is still the Super Version but maybe with some twists)

Well, all spells are edited more or less and finishing touches are made so the abilities will look cool in the campaign and stay in the theme. Don't except Doom's test maps to be final versions.

Here's the current list of abilities.

Headbutt

Phodom uses his fire element creating a flame ball and hits with his head to an enemy unit dealing some serious damage. The ability uses 10% of Phodom's max hit points and doesn't require mana to cast. |n|c00FEBA0EHotkey: Q. |nType: Target. |nCooldown: 8 seconds. |nEffect increased by level and strength.

Hey guys Aero asked me to improve 2 of the old spells so he can import them. Here are those 2 spells ;D

Fiery Ball with a parabolic arc to create the feeling that Phodom 'bombards' the target location rather than sending a projectile straight to it. Made upon Aero's request.

Fiery Ball Special Ver.

Phodom throws a fiery ball to a targeted location damaging enemies. The ball bounces back to Phodom healing him.

Test map link

Shock Circle with a delay, homing projectiles, better missile speed, more eye candy and especially a twist: When the orbs finished creating a 'pentagon' around Fradz units near the orbs will be damaged. Also the orbs have a 5 second expiration timer, if they fail to reach the target within 5 seconds they will explode without dealing damage. Made upon Aero's request.

Shock Circle Aero Ver.

Fradz casts 5 lightning orbs out of him in every direction. The orbs deal damage to nearby enemies when they are 400 units away from the caster. After 2 seconds, the orbs start following the target and will explode upon contact, dealing damage to it and stun nearby enemies for 1 second. If the target is dead the remaining orbs will seek out new targets for annihilation.

Shock Circle makes more sense now...

About Headbutt, why use his head? Is Phodom turning into a pokemon?

Hi,

About Shock Circle. You should edit my version, not yours. I attached the latest version of the Shock Circle to this post.

Aero
Your version is much much worse than my version. The elements in my versions are made based on your demand. What is wrong with my version and why did you need me to edit this version?

Well... Since Black took the time to write a review of the spells, I guess I could do it as well.

All tests done for this review are up-to-date as of 10th July, 2012.

Teleport Strike
  • Practical value - ★★★★☆
The spell works, and the fact that you improved the spell to count in crits, stuns and lifesteal contributed further to it. Still, it sometimes feels a bit awkward... As if one of the hits were missed.
  • Cosmetic value - ★★★★★
Simply put, the effect and colors couldn't possibly be any better.
Thunder Blade
  • Practical value - ★★★☆☆
Works as intented, but all in all, the skill feels like a pre-combat buff, so... It definitely feels like you could have chosen something else instead.
  • Cosmetic value - ★★☆☆☆
Even though you can't add just anything spectacular here, a normal purge effect was just way overused. Not an important factor, but it's here anyways.
Area Attack
  • Practical value - ★★★★☆
A handy lil' AoE attack that does its job, and being able to control where to unleash it makes it more practical.
  • Cosmetic value - ★★★★☆
    No description.
Lightning Storm
  • Practical value - ★★★★☆
Useful skill, works as it should, is practical. Only one thing is wrong: Turning is awkward.
  • Cosmetic value - ★★★★★
One word describes it all: Beautiful.
Blazing Fury
  • Practical value - ★★★☆☆
The "active" version of Area Attack causes some damage to this skill. Overall the combo of AoEs makes it feel too imba, as well as this slight bug(?) that after the skill effect expires, the status bar still shows the icon saying "attacks have been enhanced", when the truth is they're not.
  • Cosmetic value - ★★★★☆
Nothing to add from Area Attack.
Phoenix Combo
  • Practical value - ★★★★☆
A useful skill, does its job... You do want to have this skill. Only downside is the time it takes to perform.
  • Cosmetic value - ★★★☆☆
The effects and animation as they're now are okay, but knowing what they were and COULD have been... The score is based on current value/maximum potential value.
Flash Strike
  • Practical value - ★★★☆☆
A kind-of variation of Phoenix Combo, with a CC issue: Fradz might be untouchable, but it causes the monster to run away, so perhaps add a root as well?
  • Cosmetic value - ★★★★★
That of Teleport Strike's: Couldn't be any better.
Electrostatic Shockwaves
  • Practical value - ★★★☆☆
Shortly: Rather a "fun nuke" skill than an actual damage burst.
  • Cosmetic value - ★★★★☆
    No description.

Due to my hatred towards orbs, Shock Circle and Fiery Ball were taken off the count. Scrapped spells, too, were not included.

Hey thanks for the nice review. Yeah there is this small issue with Teleport Strike, if Fradz is given an order while performing the spell he will miss that attack. I have been trying to find a way to make Fradz unselectable during that time but no apparent result has been yielded. Same goes for Phoenix Combo.

I also didn't find any issue with 'Blazing Fury'. Perhaps you could provide me with a screenshot?

Don't know why you miss out two of the 'orb' spells. They are great ;D Oh come on man let the hatred go.

Well... A video would describe it better, but a screenshot is fine enough.

As you can see, the effect icon is still on the status tray, while the bonus damage is gone (as well as trying to attack and cause the AoE attack doesn't trigger anymore either), but the icon keeps flashing for a few seconds before disappearing.

However, I did further testing, and it appears to be a problem only if you play on slow game speed. When you're playing on normal or fast, the effect duration is fine.

Yeah I know what the problem is. Thanks for reporting this bug. Apparently the spell duration is coded based on real time rather than in-game time. That's why there seems to be a time gap between the actual duration of the spell and the duration of the buff when Game Speed is 'Slow'. I will tell Aero to fix this in the campaign.

Hello, there's something popup in my mind. This ultimate skill is for Phodom:

Constricting a fiery lasso on a enemy, Phodom ensnares the target and starts to pull it to him after 2 seconds. Any enemy on the way colliding with the target will be pushed aside and stunned for 2 seconds. The primary target will be forced to join in the Duel of Strength with Phodom in which both cannot use any active spells (passive ones still work, however) but trade physical blows for 10 seconds. The more enemies around him, the more armor and health generation he gains. Hammer swings of him are stronger, as he puts his fiery will in it that affects the surroundings.

Formula:
- Bonus armor: 0.5 x SkillLV x No. of enemies around him
- Bonus HP regen: SkillLV x No. of enemies around him
- Bonus dmg on physical hits: 4 x STR
- Burning dmg per second: [ (Magbonus% + 100%) x (250 x SkillLV + 3 x INT) ] / 10

Again, I can't think any cool name for it :(

Again you need Aero to greenlit this skill for you. Such a complex spell requires hard work and I am not gonna do it then later Aero rejects it mercilessly.

Yes well it's like one on one skill... This is too complex I wouldn't create it and would bring too much bugs. Phoenix Strike has so many bugs already.  :'(
