the problem with this is that you could need a big boost of health or mana for a cirtain part of a battle and you couldn't do that without going through your small potions that could be usefull in different situations. could u make some sort of way to make key bound items. it could be like a key bind box hero that when u put items with active abilities they become the abilities that it could cast on whatever target u wanted.

If you are talking about potions taking too much space there is a thread we are talking to improve the situation...

no i talking about that if the ability simply picks the smallest potions of that type then there could be problems where u need to pop a big one and u drink a small potion it could be fatal. so it just needs to built with a bit more flexibility to accommodate situations where drinking the top potion is not necessary.

Here's an idea:

Fourth hero, with at least these abilities:

Potions: Phodom + Fradz + Galeoth (totally of 6 abilities)

1) Drink Health Potion For Phodom - Drinks a health potion, starting from lower ranked potions to high ranked ones. If the drinker doesn't have health potions, can use restoration potions(heals both health and mana)
2) Drink Mana Potion For Phodom - Drinks a mana potion, starting from lower ranked potions to high ranked ones. If the drinker doesn't have mana potions, can use restoration potions(heals both health and mana)

I have 2 suggests:

1. I think you should banned 2 button: Move and Patrol, or Guard (since it's useless in my opnions) and replace it with 2 abilities, Drink Health potion, and Drink Mana potion. You use some counter to count the amount of potions. And every time played use this ability, it use big potions first, and small potions after that. So you need will need a lot of counter and if. But if you just count the amount of heal (example 200 for minor, 400 for small....) and the amount of health heal every time you use this ability is calculte by f(x) = .... (  min(counter,50% percent of health lost)  for example), you just need 2 counter (one for mana and one for health) and no if. This fuction f(x) may be changed by the commands (it's good for players).

2. Make potions can be used from boxes...

And btw, if Health and Mana potions are now used as a ability. It should have no value. (because if it have value, you have to do some system to convert the amount of counter back in to potions).

I mean you press some key to do smt without open chat box. (F2 to drink health F3 to drink mana)

It is possible. Like when you press F4 or F5 it selects a "dummy hero", but instantly it selects back the target you were currently having. Then it checks if the selected unit was P, F or G. If it's for example P, then it drinks a potion from a box.

But I prefer having only one dummy hero that have abilities that you can use quickly with hotkeys. You just need to select it by either pressing F4 or put it to a group and then select action.

Yeah, if it's impossible to ban those useless buttons, I think this the most convenient way. I just think of multi inventory like TKoK, so why don't you do the opposite? Make a dummy wear all stuffs and Hero enventory for health and quest items?
I know you though of it before, and if so I wanna hear why you won't do it this way.

The answer is that I'm a map maker with average skills and I have some limitations. I cannot do complicated triggers, my English isn't the best, I cannot do models, I cannot do skins and anything where I must actually draw something. So anything "unique and mind blowing" I cannot do(such as awesome systems TkoK have).

Few years ago one of my friend was doing an excellent item system for the campaign but it failed. He gave up because lack of motivation or something else I can't remember.
