Balance the price of Gold ?

Hello everyone,

I think it's very hard for newbies to finish a campaign without Give up because they very need a lot of gold to finish each chapter. I am on normal mode, I expend 100 000 gold for plenty of items (I had 1 million of gold) on chapter 6 and 150 000 gold on chapter 7 and also it's always hard for me to fight some boss !
I m sure thats players who have 100 000 gold or something like that on chapter 7 can't fight somes boss or buy somes items, and won't be able to finish that chapter !

That's why I purpose 2 things :

1. Reducing price on synthesis sets and items ! (Like Ragnarok at 30 000 gold is very very expensive !)
We should be able to earn more money, it's funnier to play with that, I think.

2. Creating a "gold system" on multiboard, you can earn more than 1 million. You know that we can't earn more than 1 million gold, that's why we should create a "gold system" on multiboard like Live or Honnor point !

Any suggestions please ?

I totally agree with OP, the gold system really needs to be reworked or at least looked at.

Which is why I made the post a while ago about the balancing of items. The biggest issue I saw was synthesis recipe costs not selling for bugger all.

The problem is you've gathered all the items and the items make up 50% of the cost, the recipe itself makes up for the other 50%. But the selling costs (because Aero has made it calculated on the stats of the item) really only sums up the costs of the items and no the recipe as many items just add up all the stats of the individual components. This problem created here is that the money spent on the recipe is not reflected in the selling cost!

This creates a problem with synergising with the Give Up function which the game is based around as you will be making a loss by creating powerful items. While it can be justified that doing so allows you to play further in the campaign and subsequently obtain more gold and items, it is not the most noob friendly solution and may easily put players who aren't willing to play through multiple times off the game.

In my experience it would take a minimum of 3 or 4 play throughs to achieve all the items in the game on normal difficulty assuming you managed to pick up most of the items each time. If Aero feels this is the way he wants to design the game then that's his choice, but personally I'd look at integrating recipe costs into the selling costs so when you 'Give Up' you get a little more then you currently get.

It seems like it's impossible to increase the maximum cap of gold above one million.

Also I won't be doing custom made gold system, takes too much time and effort.

Maybe the easiest way to solve this problem is to decrease the price of synthesis items. But how much?

Instead of decreasing synthesis costs, how about this.

50% of the Synthesis Recipe costs is carried over to the selling price

That sounds both reasonable and fair

Go for it! I do think it might be worth carefully looking into the gold system and rebalance it so you can buy about 60% of all the possible items in any given chapter. (Assuming you manage to pick up everything) This would give players some choice about prioritizing and eliminate the need for excessive give-ups.
