I think current mana system is nice the way it is.
You can really have mana problems in the first chapters, okay. But that is normal, guys. In a RPG and games like that, where the char needs energy to cast skills, in the beginning the amount of energy is small, forcing the player to use it's skills well. As we know, when you get some nice itens, the mana problem ends, and trying to make a new system could imbalance the whole thing.
And the mana cost growing with the spells is fair, as the spell power increases with it. And in TCO, the damage calculation is , in its majority, calculed by stats and such, and these things increase when heroes level up.
Even in DotA, heroes like King Leoric can't really spam stuns in early game, or he will run oom...
Eeer... long talk. But these are my thoughts
I dont understand that sentence:"When you level the mana cost of spells automatically goes up. But when you level up a spell it actually reduces the mana cost since you are more proficient with that spell." but what i said is what i know abt DOTA
I think he said that the mana costs increases, but the proeficiency (skill effect, damage and stuff) increases together, and in reality the skill becomes cheaper than it was before... and it's kinda true.
