Amazing game. I spent about 20 hours on it already! New player started with 1.9i.
The nastiest bug I ran into is a "negative damage" bug. I don't know how to trigger it, but I've noticed that on most bosses (such as chapter 1 shadow golem, chapter 3 ice queen, chapter 6 fire esper, just to name a very very few) that sometimes that your attacks and spells heal them for some reason. Maybe that is the mechanic for a couple bosses during special phases, but it really doesn't feel right that it's happening on every boss.
For one example, on the ice spider queen, Galeoth's attacks and spells would heal her so she would stay at 100%. This happens with many bosses. Sometimes I'm able to bypass this by running around and not attacking for a while, then try attacking again, then their hp goes down as expected. But if they enter this mode, then continually attacking them will never drain their hp and the fight never can be won.
The only time I experienced this with normal mobs was with the 4 scorpions guarding the magic orb in Chapter 3), but lots of chapter, elite, and epic bosses activate this bug.
Chapter 1: no bugs I encountered
Chapter 2: Tornder King doesn't spawn even after killing all the Tornders
Chapter 3: cannot get omega orb part from the 2 golems puzzle. I've watched videos of previous versions but even when I copy the strategy, it doesn't work. The whole thing seems buggy; in order to deactivate the fire wall you actually have to kill them separately because if you kill them at the same time, then they never respawn and the firewall does not go down.
Chapter 4: maybe increase exp or add mobs? Very difficult to hit max level even when killing everything, unless you get Greedy Bastard from the luck box. Might need some sort of respawning area so Phodom can guarantee to max out his charges on sapphire/ruby axe
Chapter 5: if you kill the first two vampires in the basement too fast, then the big one hiding in the back will stay invulnerable.
Chapter 6: the dig area in the first fire cave that you start in holds 250 coins instead of the Orb of Degeneration from previous versions. This means it's impossible to craft Galeoth's Rune Cloak since I could not find the orb of degeneration in any of the other chapters. Also one of Phodom's or Fradz's boxes can be invisible on this level still. I had to be super careful and save at every step making sure all my boxes were active. When fighting Xada, you can attempt to steal from him but nothing pops out when you get the success message (for some odd reason, the shadow armor is already on the floor when the fight begins). Faerga boss is buggy when he spawns his summons; if you kill them too fast (for instance, using scythe of annhilation) then the boss will not reappear.
Chapter 7: Galeoth's Command (learnable skill) disappeared from Galeoth's command card ; (. Team Arena is bugged; I cleared the whole thing and only got 7 gladiator points instead of 10 like from the solo arena. Also Team Arena battle with the 2 northrend knights is bugged if you kill them too fast then nothing happens; they don't respawn and you can't exit the arena. Seems to be a lot of bugs with having to kill things simultaneously or not in general like with the golems from other chapters.
Chapter 8: For me, everybody's spellbook spells/espers disappeared except the fire skills. : (. The crystal golem quest is not working; they do not respawn like they're supposed to and even when you kill them all, the quest won't complete. The Death Spike item (+30 agi, instant death if enemy is half level) strangely has a mana cost with it now, but it turns back to normal in Chapter 9. The Omega Bracelet you get from stealing from the black golem in the monuments area just says "click to use" and has no description of what it's for. Multiboard says 10 dig spots, but I only saw 8. Healer carries 2 jade armors to steal.
Chapter 9: Multiboard says max level is 70, but it's 80. Very hard to get max level unless you use loads of experience items. The escort quest didn't drop Yin like it's supposed to.
Bugs in General:
- tons of errors in Multiboard counting after chapter 3 (incorrect miniboss/quest is the most common)
- magic torment seems to only trigger every so often; like with Fradz's insane attack speed it doesn't seem to burn mana very fast, only every second or so.
-If you try to craft Super Holgro with True Zozi, it doesn't work. You have to have a normal Zozi to craft Super Holgro, and when you do it, it doesn't use up the normal Zozi.
-Combat King: Retaliation armor debuff seems to get overridden by other armor debuffs (scissor strike, meltdown)
- Soul Orb you purchased in Chapter 3 should probably say (excalibur: 1/2) so you know to combine it with the elemental sword.
- Lightning elemental's (fraz skill) overcharge doesn't work! : (. The thing where it increases its attack rate gradually.
- Electrify Muscles (fraz skill) doesn't increase attack rate or movement speed : (
- Family Portrait (phodom starting pack) doesn't increase movement or health regen when clicked as advertised.
- lots of auras still work from boxes, like medal of heroism, rune cloak, zoclom boots, etc.
- Galeoth's passive Special that slows enemy/bashes occasionally doesn't quite work with the slow enemy part. It seems to apply "toxic poison level 8" debuff for 1 second and doesn't even do any damage or slow on application (I tried this on various mobs in Chapter 3 but none of them move any slower or attack slower).
- make it more clear what items stack and what don't. For instance, if you wear 2 shadow cloaks, the steal % does add up but the move speed does not. However, if you have speedy boots and shadow cloak, then the move speed does add together. Wearing 2 life stones doesn't improve the regeneration (this is all according to multiboard). If a hero holds 2 horseshoes you don't any luck past the first.
- Animal Set click is messed up; if you click one of the 3 attributes it will never exit the screen so the click bonus is useless.
- Urn of Chaos is seriously bugged; if you click it, it removes your heroes from the game.
- battlemage armor/set freeze attacker doesn't freeze them at all; it plays an animation and maybe some damage but it's supposed to stun/stop them but it doesn't
General Balance Issues:
-not worth it to level up most skills since it raises their mana costs significantly over time and the level up bonus isn't very good; it's better to leave most skills at level 1 and boost them through magic damage. Maybe redo skills so the amount of bonus you get from stats/magic damage is improved by having a higher level in the skill, and consider reducing the mana cost especially for characters like Fraz who may not be spellcasting; I never leveled up his skills because that would just drain his mana too fast for not much return.
-some skill tiers are entirely imbalanced; for instance Phodom's fire aura beats everything in that tier, you can't play without Galeoth's Inner Light heal (ethereal banish is scary if it redirects enemy fire at your other heroes, fog heals too slow and in a fixed area, reflect armor doesn't even heal), Phodom's heals over time beat his instant heals badly. Can't play Fradz as a healer since his heals are on 20 second cooldown.
-Galeoth starter packs are completely imbalanced. Only the magic crystal pack is any good; the rune cloak you can buy later on, the general staff seems weak (+15 armor on max charge? : / ), opportunist doesn't make any sense since the attacks that kill you ignore armor anyway.
-never explains how magic reduction works or what it works on; I don't notice any difference when I'm getting hit by boss spells whether I have 75% (Phodom's heal + combat king) or 0%.
-don't like Espers (too weak damagewise, and some phases are just drawn out by having Espers). It seems like their only purpose is to delay so your hero's cooldowns can finish. Maybe remake them more like Ogozoma? I'd prefer to have Espers not last as long but be more effective when they're active.
-in general the elemental summon skills suck very badly; they die WAYYYYY TOO fast and don't do nice damage compared to the scalable skills.
-in general I was very annoyed at item swapping during battles; i.e. to get steal chance up, activate path of power, switch to Adenaj when leveling up. : (
In spite of the bugs, I'm really amazed by everything....such high quality with custom skills and cutscenes and consistency throughout all 9 chapters so far O_O. In summary the worst offending bugs are the negative damage bug, disappearing spells, and lacking orb of degeneration for Galeoth's ultimate set.
edit: Also Balgaron's Seal (item) doesn't seem to do anything; it's supposed to give 2 auras but it doesn't give any. The auction house in chapter 7 never tried to sell me goldeneye : (
edit 2: I figured out how to bug Galeoth's passive slowing attack; if you learn combat king: forceful blow then it gets replaced with a useless toxic debuff which doesn't slow or do damage and lasts only 1 second.
Also enchanted skin armor buff doesn't seem to work at all; I keep casting spells over and over and never see my armor go up.
edit 3: more bugs: in Chapter 2 when you purchase spiral shield's upgrades, they are reversed. I.e. when you click on the one that increases magic damage, it upgrades the shell to attack damage, and vice versa.
In chapter 6, your max potions/scrolls goes up to 30, but in chapter 7 it goes back down to 20
Enemies killed by Death Spike do not yield experience. (maybe scythe of annihilation as well??)
